Why is the grain display animation not very smooth?

I'm demoing this,It's very impressive

but on the Mac the GUI is nowhere near as responsive as some of my other plugins.

The graphics display showing the grains in particular does not seem very smooth. Any reason why?

(edit: just saw the Robert Dudzic video on your home page and it looks like it's even doing it on his computer)

Maybe it's not just my system.
