Just seems kind of quiet lately. No new updates or product announcements.

Hopefully all is well :tu:

I just bought Kaleidoscope (license transfer) and the communication with 2Caudio has been good

I bet they're busy working on B-tutu...
might be released any moment now - or not... :hihi:

Ima sell it. B2/Aether have been neglected.
no HiDPI GUI, not even the sorting bug on mac has been fixed.
disappointing. I like the sound but basic hygiene is necessary.

maybe they are dumping Mac because of the hassle of devoting so much time to them because of the way Apple manipulate dev time with various OS and hardware changes. Small Dev teams need predictable stable architectures so they can plan and build new products without having to spend years of devtime updating old products because of changes at the OS/Hardware level

Exactly. If only 2Caudio was as huge as ToneBoosters then they might have the resources to support the Apple stuff.
I lost my heart in Cap de Creus

Or as huge as Voxengo. Or Melda. Or Fuse Audio. Or u-he. Or... insert any other smaller dev that's already M1 ready.
The ironic thing is that the first to support M1 architecture were the smallest devs, not the largest.

Just an update.

I got a hold of support so I can say they are still alive and well. :tu:

The sorting bug is annoying but they have had a HiDPI GUI option for years

Not for @2x rendering (i.e retina mac). It makes the interface huge, but not as sharp as Breeze2/precedence.

Worrying there is no news from 2C

I have a 4K iMac and although I agree Breeze 2 is even sharper and the GUI resizing options are much more flexible, I still find the older plugins HD mode to be sharp enough for me.

yes, breeze 2 and precedence are so called "retina ready"
Aether and B2 are not retina (4 pixels for 1 "logical" pixel), so switching to HD just makes them large and blocky instead of small and blocky

Despite any GUI issues, are their plugins working correctly for macOS Catalina or Big Sur users? They are a company I've had my eye on for a long time, but I've held off because I didn't have an up-to-date processor to meet the CPU requirements that a lot of people have reported. Now that I have a new iMac I've been on the lookout for creative effect plugins. I definitely like the way they sound, but I would pass if they were unstable. Any opinions would be appreciated. - M
