Getting an old PCIe card onto a new motherboard.

So... it finally happened. I became that old guy who walks into the Apple store complaining about how they can’t figure out how to hook their Jaz drive up to their new MacBook Air.

Except, in my case, it’s about a FireWire 800 card. Here’s the card:

When I was putting this together I told the salesperson what I was trying to do and he didn’t even react, so I figured it was a non issue, but when I cracked open the case to put in my trusty FireWire card, it’s clear that the new standard sits so far from the case that my card doesn’t jut out enough to reach the back of the case. As I understand it, it can fit in there, but I guess I need something that would attach to it and then fit into the new PCIe 4X 16 slot. I’ve tried searching for this but I can’t figure out exactly what I need. Has anyone else ran into this issue?

I think most options will cost money, you could try & find an adaptor pcie to pcie or connect it and use extension screws to hold your original FW card to the case and plug in that way. Maybe just easier to get a newer Texas Instruments card.

Never mind. In the better light of day, I see that I was just misaligning my card.
