I have a Dell Precision M4800 and I would like to upgrade the audio from what it has currently. I bought a Fiio E10K headphone amplifier, but that did not work with Reaper (after doing some research, I think the problem was that it's not a soundcard, and to work with Reaper, it needs to be an actual soundcard). I'm not sure if an external soundcard might work. Any advice and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Any 24 bit USB 2/3 audio interface will do the job. Depends what physical ins & outs you want. Do you need midi, phantom power, etc
