Can I remap my hardware drum pads in Cubase to trigger exactly the sounds I want from another drum machine?

Hi, so I would like to play my Nord Drum 3P thru Cubase (5) so that its pads would trigger exactly the sounds I want from UNO Drum. Nord Drums six pads are assigned to trigger these midi notes --> C3, D3, E3, F3, G3, A3 and UNO Drums sounds are assigned to various white and black keys two octaves lower. I figured out I can use Midi Modifier/Transpose (-24 semitones) function in Cubase so that Nord Drum will trigger some sounds from UNO Drum when I hit the pads. But I would like to be able to assign specific UNO Drum sounds to specific Nord Drum pads. Is there a way in Cubase to do this? Or is there some midi plug-in which I could install in Cubase that would do the job?

Cubase drum map setup has both an input and an output column for notes so you can make that translation or draw that relationship in there.
You can take an extant map in/from a drums plugin via the Instrument Track (not in the rack instantiation) but to edit it you need to save it and load it.
And you can describe/name a hit to be easily recognizable in an editor for when you touch the note in there.

Thanks! I look into it tomorrow. I tried it quickly but didn't yet fully understand how to get it to work even tho I inserted the correct notes there.

You also want to be apprised of the difference in naming conventions. Yamaha (Cubase) middle C is called C3; Roland (VSL uses this) calls it C4, and another OG MIDI protocol developer, forgot which calls it C5. So a BFD has a preference for it, eg., the -2 octave switch, where MIDI Note 0 is C-2.

Now I got it working! I don't know what went wrong yesterday... I guess I was just too tired to do anything technical... now the drum map setup seemed pretty straightforward to handle! Thank you very much for the information!
