This looks very interesting:

https://pitchfork.com/thepitch/the-secr ... o-be-told/

so many women played seminal roles in the development of electronic music - too often unrecognised

Yeah, I'm looking forward to watching this. Couple of names I hadn't seen/heard-of before, and those with whom I am familiar are quite fascinating, so should be worthwhile.

I'll leave this here.

we watched this last night! clara rockmore on the theremin was amazing. watching delia derbyshire manually sync up tape loops on 3 separate reel tape recorders... makes me NOT take my software DAW & synths for granted. laurie spiegel's early mac software for music-making (& her spot-on prediction for the future)... all great stuff.

worth checking out.

The latter is more appropriate/realistic, although there is a high degree of 'negligence' regarding 'publicly' divulged recognition as well, I suspect. The title could easily have simply said: "The History of Women in Electronic Music", but then missed-out on the free press generated from a potential "conspiracy", and 'gender-baiting' that the ravenous "national enquirer" mindset, demands.

Those who were interested in the "process" of, or really involved in "electronic music" (or electronics in general, particularly DIYers) were most likely if not fully familiar with some or many of these pioneers/innovators work. Same with numerous 'innovations' which took place within the film "industry", or ANY specialized 'field-of-interest' or "industry" for that matter.

For example, if one was into BeOS, or Palm (devices), or DIY synths, they would likely have been familiar with the founder of 'Mutable Instruments', long before its inception and/or entry into eurorack.

same/same [2c]

True. I simply meant by the public at large. Funny thing is I have seen articles & whatnot on this subject due to people I have followed on Instagram in more of a 'pioneers of' or 'women you may not be familiar with'. Not secret like it was intentionally hidden away

Precisely.

I really enjoyed Marta Salogni's contribution. The decision to go with sound design rather than a score was perfect IMO
