I missed that the QMMG was a filter module, but looks like you lucked out since they don't seem to be in production anymore!justin3am wrote: Sun May 02, 2021 5:22 pm I love the QPAS. It has a lot of range as a tone shaper, spacializer and resonator. It's neat to self-patch, as well.
It's hard to pick favorite eurorack filters but there are a few which have stayed in my systems longer than others. QMMG (and MMG), Korgasmatron (and Morgasmatron), R*S VCFQ and Plague Bearer.
I tend to run patches through outboard filters as well.
I'm actually very excited about the QPAS. I think Blades is more of what I wanted for a first filter, but I can't help but be excited by what I should be able to get out of QPAS.
Obviously, it's hard to plan for the future as things change the more you use something and learn what you like, but I'm hopeful these ones tick that box of being a long-stays. I'm slowly adding and selling things via Reverb, and man I truly hate selling things. It doesn't matter if there's a profit with some... I just hate it.
I'm going to have to keep Morgasmatron on my radar when I start looking at MS20 style filters.

I have to be honest... My first thought when watching that was, "Now there's a knob I could look at all day."vurt wrote: Sun May 02, 2021 7:56 pm ooh that is nice! bit out of my price range, although it looks very useful![]()

Whoa! That looks really cool! Not seen that before, so did some checking, and the devs have implemented some very clever functions and features. Shame about the kinda pushy "snooze-u-lose" ploy though (I hate that shit), and lack of unbiased reviews. Seems wise to wait.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Sun May 02, 2021 6:18 pm I got my email about the Oxi One with the intro offers, but I don’t like the “buy now or lose out big time” thing of it all when we haven’t got any reviews back from non shill people over things like build quality and reliability of the final units. Too much of a gamble for my liking.
Last time I was in a music shop I came across the NI Kontrol A61. Was really surprised at how good the keyboard was for the price. Not quite on a par with my Studiologic Sledge II (black edition) for '3-times-the-price' comparison, but surprisingly almost close, and leaps-and-bounds better than the majority of other 'controllers' I played with while there, and over the past few years prior. Might be worth a look.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Sun May 02, 2021 6:18 pm One thing that has risen up the list is search for a good 61+ key MIDI controller with good action, but preferably not much taller than the keys themselves. Just built a new desk and for once there will be enough room on it to have a keyboard. I may end up going for a second hand digital piano.

Worth a look. I’d be interested to know what people’s experience is of the Nektar Impact LX 88+ as it seems to offer crazy value on paper, £207 for a semi-weighted 88 key board. Just need to know if the keyboard is actually any good.Shabdahbriah wrote: Mon May 03, 2021 12:11 am Last time I was in a music shop I came across the NI Kontrol A61. I just got a Behringer Neutron last Friday and it's great. I wish Behringer would spend more time and energy on designing their own machines, they're good at it. It's well-built, has ok software with it, great knobs (switch out the LFO selector and the filter cutoff k nobs!) and the oscs are copies but they are just fat and juicy. The red paint is ugly but I can maybe live with it. Maybe.
Didn't have too much time to tinker with it this weekend, but man, it makes the windows rattle with just one oscillator and it's very versatile. The onboard Moffatt filter is cool, I might get bored in the future though, and get slowly into eurorack to add some other filters. Any suggestions? Is the WASP from Doepfer any good?

go back to page 31 and a touch past half way down you'll find this post:RugerioDelStereo wrote: Mon May 03, 2021 7:03 am The onboard Moffatt filter is cool, I might get bored in the future though, and get slowly into eurorack to add some other filters. start there ... and slowly work your way back here.elxsound wrote: Fri Apr 30, 2021 3:20 am Here's my micro setup. It looks like 0-Coast will arrive next week. I was really hoping to dig in this weekend. The worst part is that while it's in route, I keep toying with the idea of adding a 4ms desktop "pod" to house a small number of modules.
What I'd like to pick up is a filter module of some sort. Any suggestions of one (or a few) that's unlikely to be replaced later?

Ha! Well this is one of the reasons that it's hard to make recommendations. A lot of the stuff I would want to recommend is out of date and there are newer shinier things. I was lucky enough to have two QMMGs, when they were still available new. I sold one before the used market turned ridiculous. I didn't even realize that MMG is also discontinued now. I just saw an MMG going for more than my QMMG cost.elxsound wrote: Sun May 02, 2021 10:02 pmI missed that the QMMG was a filter module, but looks like you lucked out since they don't seem to be in production anymore!

I use an original Korgasmatron but I also have Morgasmatron. I use these for pinging, to create a percussive voices, almost as much as I use them as normal filters. The Q-Drive and the crossfader make them excellent for synthesizing drum sounds but only the Morgasmatron has CV inputs for resonance, so you can modulate the decay.

0-Coast has landed. This should help me tide things over for a bit. There are so many nice bits of their other modules in this thing. It reminds me of getting the tasters from a brewery and all 9 glasses are pretty much the size of a bottle of beer.
I ordered the TipTop Audio Fold Processor. I honestly don't know where this module will be long-term, but I got caught up on DivKid's channel, and I really like how this one performed.
I also ordered more of the Cioks type 2 cables to use with 4MS Pod and 0-Ctrl (after I find one decently priced).

I believe that I am still in the lead on this. I'm at one module during 2021.Shabdahbriah wrote: Tue May 04, 2021 8:03 am so much for the highly coveted "Model of restraint, forum User of the month" award.![]()

When it comes to 2021 Eurorack gear purchases, I've only bought a pair of rack ears to mount my Behringer Neutron in a 19" rack. I think that puts me in the lead for Eurorack restraint, but you're still in a very honorable 2nd place.ghettosynth wrote: Tue May 04, 2021 8:14 amI believe that I am still in the lead on this. Whereas ghettosynth, has become borderline militant on occasion, in his resistance to succumbing to temptation.
