This is very high quality and in-depth work. A lot of people do general stuff on youtube vidz for FL but you take it to the next level, while not going overboard or droning on too long. Sure you explore all the subtle possibilities, but I like that. There are more concise videos on FL if people want that. Please don't change your format. I think you have it exactly right.

I've only watched one video all the way through: Slicex.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wh0wDEvMAJo

So I'm basing my whole opinion on this. Lots of good info. Lots of things not covered though, but I won't critique as maybe you have made other Slicex vidz, this is just an off the cuff appraisal.

8/10.

Your voice is clear enough. The videos are not overly flashy or edited too much, but just enough to maintain interest. You get to the point. You expound on the point, but not overly so.

I think this is a very good source of information for people wanting to dive a bit deeper in to FL. If they are interested in the source matter, then they will appreciate more than resent you taking the time to go so in depth. Sure, you could boil it down a bit. I'm not a fan of idents and intros. I find them gimmicky and they usually make me miss the first 2 minutes of a vid because I always skip. In my new youtube audio channel that I'm prototyping I have no intros or idents. You may want to consider this. It's youtube, and yeah sure, you are trying to build a 'brand' but it's a little presumptious if you ask me. That's a harsh criticism though - I just miss the first few minutes of your video like every other one that rambles with sounds or images I really don't want to see.

I'm using plugins like Slicex and DirectWave a lot more in other DAWs. Especially now as I do the 'hack' for getting DirectWave to have the same scalable GUI in other DAWs as it is in the updated version of native FL. Details on their website. It's not super stable, but then again, neither is the standard DirectWave, so I just save more often than usual. SliceX managed to get the vector treatment so is scalable in other DAWs, of course.

SliceX and DirectWave are where a lot of the real action is if you ask me with 3rd party VSTs. I can take or leave their analog emulations. SliceX and DirectWave are just so super-useful and on the whole work great in many other DAWs. I'm glad I snapped them up when they were available.

I've bookmarked your channel, and I'm going to be going over a few more of your vidz. FL is one of a handful of DAWs that I've really committed time to over the years. I can easily do full tracks in it quite quickly, but I still have to learn about the other 90 percent of the program I don't use.

Great work, and thanks for taking the time to share!

Thank you very much for this deep insight/review and kind words... :tu:

Constructive criticism is the most valuable good for persons in a situation like me...
Especially as a beginner of making tutorials and as a just beginning youtuber in general it´s often really hard to decide what to do and how to do it...

To be honest parts like intros and idents I just do because all the others do... :D
But I am with you that it gets boring over time as it´s over and over the same and at the end wasted time...

Trying to be critical to myself I often have the feeling going to deep into details or being overly clear but on the other side I want to be thorough...
I´ve seen to many vids/tips showing parts wrong or overly complicated or leaving out what I considered as the most important part...
It´s an eternal struggle with myself but I hope getting better at it with time...

But anyway... lots of good information in your posting I will definetely consider to improve my work and I can't thank people like you enough who let me see my work through their eyes...

Thank you for taking the time and let me know!!!

I think so far the biggest eye opener for me was a video I saw from inthemix talking about using the current channel for the analyze plugins. Blew my mind and now wish all DAWs had a current track channel
