FF has some decent software, but there are so many delay plugs out there that are better than (the current version of) Timeless. While I doubt an update will change my opinion, maybe I'll check out the demo.

It's a completely different animal. Timeless 2 never clicked with me, it was way too complex/esoteric to try and get to grips with. V3 on the other hand has a much more focused/streamlined interface and workflow, but still has lots of potential to go really wild with the new effects and of course the trademark FF mod system.Russell Grand wrote: Mon May 10, 2021 11:39 am FF has some decent software, but there are so many delay plugs out there that are better than (the current version of) Timeless. Thanks, PB. I'll definitely give it a try then.PieBerger wrote: Mon May 10, 2021 11:46 amIt's a completely different animal. hm... I'll check out the demo, however I don't assume that I'll bite - in typical FF fashion the upgrade is pricier than other company's intro- or even full prices... well, it seems to work for them.

Yeah, I realized from my experience of Saturn 2 that don't buy just because it a newer version and a FabFilter plugin. Glad I demoed Saturn 2. It was/is not for me. Considering the interface is more or less the same and I have so many good delay plugins, I don't even feel the urge to try Timeless 3. I definitely don't mean it is not good or anything like that, because Sampleconstruct has already showed how cool it sounds.

I got Saturn 2 at some point when it was discounted (~33€) but tbh I have yet to use it...
With version 3 Timeless still has that boring digital (i.e. unorganic) Fabfilter sound that is a lot of work to get rid of
- e.g. the preset "Beautyful Vintage" chorus is a bad joke - it's like they never used any analog chorus in their entire life...
I think it may perhaps be a great tool if you wouldn't touch anything vintage with a bargepole.

The lower price gets us most of the time. 33€ is a fantastic price for Saturn 2, but hopefully you get around using it. If Timeless 3 was about 30-40€, I might have jumped on it. Glad it isn't.
But I thought "timeless" could be related to "vintage" in some way...

He's capable of making anything sound good though.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Mon May 10, 2021 1:36 pm I definitely don't mean it is not good or anything like that, because Sampleconstruct has already showed how cool it sounds.

Saturn 2 is a powerhouse compared to its predecessor and I’m just starting to get to grips with Timeless 3. Pretty incredible. Just tried that Large Shimmer Reverb under Special FX. No need for ValhallaDSP anymore. This is next level.

Thanks but they really programmed some very cool, good sounding stuff into Timeless 3, I never tried it's predecessor because I'm fully covered with delays but bought T3 blindfolded because of the modulation system in combination with all those features. Next level FX...Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Mon May 10, 2021 1:57 pmHe's capable of making anything sound good though.LoveEnigma18 wrote: Mon May 10, 2021 1:36 pm I definitely don't mean it is not good or anything like that, because Sampleconstruct has already showed how cool it sounds.![]()

The UI is cool, though I think the smoke stack animation thing looks odd. While I have only begun to check it out, based on the presets alone, personally, I am not finding the sound of it remarkable

Just to make sure: the 33€ was the upgrade, not the full price...LoveEnigma18 wrote: Mon May 10, 2021 1:54 pm The lower price gets us most of the time. 33€ is a fantastic price for Saturn 2, but hopefully you get around using it. being the true Gearslut that I am ( whoops sorry - I forgot that this is considered an inappropriate term these days, self-irony and all
But 54€ is more than what Valhalla Delays costs, and the latter gets added free additonal functionality over the course of several updates and years -and it does that gorgeous analog chorus stuff (and what not) in a blink of an eye starting from scratch - and it does it well.
Yeah, the name is chosen quite well - however obviously no guarantee at all that it will deliver.

I would say that highly depends on your own sonic preferences.
