The riffs you hate (and why you hate them)

And they don't have to be guitar riffs. Sax riffs, keyboard riffs, whatever instrument is fair game.
For example, most sax riffs in rap songs I find annoying, whether it is "Brass Monkey" or "Thrift Shop".
The opening guitar riff to "Respect". There's something in the bends that sounds off to me.
The opening riff to "Don't You Want Me Baby" just sounds dumb and clunky to me.

Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.

I steer clear of things I hate but there is one thing I remember well from incessant play in a Starbucks.
It's that Bowie disco track with Stevie Ray Vaughn. I hate that main riff, hate the whole thing. Wouldna cared but hear it ten times in a day...

The opening riff to "Hotel California". Because then it keeps going into the whole track.

i don't remember.
as far as i know, my music collection doesn't contain anything that i hate.
and if i hear music outside my collection that i hate then i just move on and/or do as some new yorkers do and just "forget about it".

georges solo on all you need is love.
guitar tone seems off in the mix and is quite jarring
it's a great tone for mudhoney for sure, but doesn't work in aynil. imo. it seems to just sit alone, like it was tacked on later, by an intern

No one wants me to talk about any part or aspect of music that I hate, least of all me. Well, ok, part of me wants to indulge anyway, but I don't listen to that part anymore, because I know that it is NOT my friend. It's the same part of me that says things like: "Oh c'mon, its just a little meth! What could go wrong?", or "Have another shot of Sambuca! It's a special occasion!", and I do NOT listen to it anymore. My health, both mental and physical, has improved enormously as a result.
Nonetheless, I will take this opportunity to say: "Hello kvr, and glad you're still here."

if we are going obie related this early, does geddy lees voice count as a riff?
i really want to like rush, musically they are pretty damn good. but his voice has a cartoon character edge i can't ignore (in my mind anyway).
nothing to do with him, don't know the guy, just one of those voices that for me, gets in the way.
and im not anti falsetto in males, prince does a lot of that, the guy in mercury rev is up there too.
so i can't really explain why i don't like it, i just know i don't.
sorry geddy if you're reading this

im glad that's not just me then.
as musicians, they are (were) awesome, some great playing. even bought a few albums to try and see if exposure would get me over it.
hasn't worked in about 20 years, and i do still ocassionally try

Not a big fan of "falsetto in males", but his voice was just OTT 'strained', to my threshold of 'no'.
