I sold my Apollo Twin mk2 and the plugins as well. Not that they were bad or anything bit I didnt want to be part of that eco system where I cant resell and buy plugins second hand. Moreover so because their „exclusive“ plugins are not exclusive anymore and bc of their excellent marketing people dont realize that a software running on their own dsp chips dont need frequent updates bc the chips dont change. that said their plugons dont sound out of that but Im pretty sure the code is and thats why in my personal opinion native plugin developer deliver equally good plugins in quality but more modern in terms of programming. the time is gone when UAD was unmatched bc newer technology enabled the other developer to develop natove plugins with newer technology. One more thing: Im a Windows user and UAD is mostly Thunderbolt3. Yes there are USB interfaces but they are not as good/powerfull as their TB3 versions and I ran my Apollo with an TB3 expansion card (which btw was a real real pain to set up) and I didnt want to end up in the future with an interface I cant connect to a newer computer and which is outdated and cant be sold anymore. so I would not end up with a sh*tload of dead money I decided to get rid of my UAD stuff and to my ear I didnt end up with worse sounding music by NOT using UAD anymore

If I currently owned and used UAD products, I would probably believe that too...
Try the original UAD Moog Multimode filter. Drive circuit was the best ITB saturation I had ever heard. Then when it comes to EQs, try the mk2 UAD Helios which I find amazing.

The Native plugins that I feel hang out in the same territory as UAD are the Eventide Clockworks and Brainworx emulations, some which are also available on UAD.
The moog is almost more straight up distortion - but it definitely sounds amazing.
The culture vulture is also a really really good saturation/distortion.

but, there are really good saturation options in the box as well, some can be picked up at quite low cost.

Probably twice annually it'll be discounted this much. The plug in prices are not discounted as much as some other companies, but many people don't ever, or rarely, pay full price.

Sounds pretty good deal to me! Enjoy the UAD plug ins. I hope they get ported over quickly - but you'll have stream of great plug ins as the get moved over!
