My track that I started to test the Softube Model 84 (Juno 106) is slowly getting a bit longer, so it makes now more sense to post it separately.
The basic idea was to try something in Goa Trance style (e.g. in the direction of Astral Projection).

BPM: 138
DAW: Cubase
Tracks: 34
Running time: 2:16 (so far ;))

A partial sequence of Hats was created with the TR 808 emulation Nepheton. Otherwise, Tal Bassline 101, Diva, Repro 5, Model 84, Mini V, Sylenth, Spire, Pigments and others were used.
The main lead sequence is from the Model 84 with a Bigrock Phaser (Smallstone emulation).

So my friends... and here is the video (freshly rendered) :P

This is very good!

Very authentic sounds and melodies for the Astral Projection style, good production, good mixing, sounds very pro.

It definitetly deserves to evolve into a full-blown 8 minute track :)

You may think aboud a stronger kick perhaps, considering modern goa production standards.
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

I don't like the video.

Thanks and that's a good hint. I play a bit with a different psy-kick with a bit more upper frequency content.
The kick is now changed (updated it on SoundCloud)... it's now 2 kicks (1 normal and one sub kick) both go on a group and have some RBass and RComp on there. One kick still serves as a sidechain for the bass compressor (Cubase Multiband but only for one band up to 200Hz, the other bands are bypassed).

Oh, that's a pity! At first I had a completely different idea... Some footage from one of the big events, e.g. in Goa, where people dance in front of the stage.
"Shanti" is perhaps a well-known term from yoga and means something like "inner peace", something psychedelic I thought was fitting.
Yes, I know! Making a great video is already quite a challenge :?

Thank you for all the comments and have great weekend!

I do not know how Youtube transcodes the video, actually the original was AAC 320kbs. Therefore here the MP3 (320kbs)

Almost 5000 plays on YouTube... Thanks guys :tu: Maybe I should "expand" my typical Chillout genre a bit and do Trance too :D

In the meantime I have not only layered 2 kicks, but also changed the mix. The bass (Tal Bassline 101) got a different effect chain (RBass => Blackbox HG2-MS => Multiband Comp => Lindell PEX 500 and as a test the Slate FG-Stress (instead of the CLA-2A).
The submix/stems of the synth got the SPL Iron and on the master is the Elysia Alpha.
I kicked out the Slate Virtual Mixrack with VCC and put the Lindell 80 Bus on the subgroups instead. I think it sounds better.

On the master is Teote, Vertigo VSM-3, bx_masterdesk, Elysia Alpha, Limitless (I forgot to mention that).

I'm still testing voice samples (very typical in this genre).

The latest version is always on SoundCloud. Have a nice weekend!

Effective, well produced slice of 'old school' Trance - enjoyed it!

Just needs developing into a full length trance epic!

Thank you very much, Mark!

Good: synth patches/sounds, melodies, intro
Bad: mixing, weak kick and bass (needs a stronger kick), weak hi-hats (raise OH)
If you have a good mix, you don't need all those plugins on the master bus.
