It is machine activated. It's just that it's limited to one machine activation. ;)

Post

It is indeed machine activated, else I wouldn't have bothered about it at all. Got an unused serial for $11. :)

EDIT: My bad, only 1 activation is available.

Ok, then it might be different to R2, PhoenixVerb and Excalibur, because, those only allow 1 activation.

Agh, right. I knew something about it bothers me.

But looks like that limit is out anyway so i guess it's fine.

I think i saw it on sale for like 15€, could that be the case? Or was that other EA reverbs

By the way, my iLok license manager is showing "1 of 2" activation used, so guess it is 2 activation allowed, as with most iLok protected plugins.
glad that you found your reverb, nimbus is great. no doubt about it.
i have also R4, and phoenixverb (and excalibur..). all by the way 1 of 1 activation. policy has changed?

(softube changed there policy, from 2 to 3 activations, did show up in iLok).

not a real prob for me, although work on 2 systems, but i have them in my main studio. (yes 2 iLok dongles, the cost of great synth in sale...)

nimbus smooth sound, me like the exponantial audio reverbs.

EDIT: as you see, i have Nimbus, see only 1 of 1 activation. so.....

EDIT 2: bought them when EA was taken over by izotope, and via pluginboutique or other resellers..
so for the low prices, don't know anymore how low. $29 or so? as update from phoenixverb. so now even lower prices of course, or not? does not matter, already great prices for what they give me.

IIRC, back when Exponential Audio wasn't iZotope, they only had dongle acivation indeed (at least I recall that it was the onley method when I got R2). Now they allow dongle and machine activation though.

Right - i've had it at the beginning of the buy-out when i had MPS3 and it was only iLok dongle at first :)

One for sale at 25$, but on the other hand I was really gunning for VintageVerb :D

Thanks. Nimbus sounds great indeed. :tu:

I will recheck on the number of activation, but if I remember correctly, it is 2. The guy from who I bought it had an unused serial he probably got from Plugin Boutique. I have no idea about EA/Izotope iLok activation. I just have one studio computer, so it's fine for me. :)

EDIT: I was wrong. Only 1 activation for NIMBUS.

Actually they had started to allow machine activation for their lower-tier products quite some time before Izotope took over.

Didn't notice about the foreground and wrapper thing yesterday, but I understand what you are saying. I will check it again today.
Oddly, this problem does not happen for me with NIMBUS.

Although it does happen for some Voxengo plugins that I have, example SPAN and MSED.

Yeah, it's quite annoying if you own a desktop and a laptop for portability. You can only use them on one machine. :(

Nimbus reminds me of Verberate from Acon Digital.
Do they compare?

The one caveat is you can deactivate/activate from your current computer without worrying about having access to the machine it’s currently authorized onto.

But it does take that extra 1 minute when switching computers. I feel like they could really make it at least 2 activations. There are 1-10% of users that would share with their friends, so I guess the best policy is punish everyone who likes the product :dog:

I understand, but I don't think that's excusable. There are lots of developers like Valhalla, Klanghelm, Xfer, D16 Group and many others that don't do it this way. And let's be honest, at that price and that sound quality, I don't think there are many that would share it with their friends.
