Indeed. But it includes a couple of modulation effects that let you usually achieve similar results (you can modulate time, amplitude, filters etc. using plug-ins). It's a different (plug-in based) approach.
.. but WOW would Late Replies be even more ridiculously powerful if you added some envelope followers and LFO/Sequencer stuff that could be synced to host!

Imagine exposing wanted plugin parameters from the inserted 3rd party plugins, like allow some 16 macro controls that could be freely assigned from any of the inserted plugins and then modulating any of those with built in modulators from Late Replies!! :o :o :o

Dude! I'm salivating here! :D

Indeed FF Timeless3, BCA Late Replies and UVI Relayer are 3 different beasts. I use them all and will probably use Timeless3 a tad more now since the great update.

Cool! A bit basic for my taste but it’s always a pleasure to hear Dan speaking. :clown:

Now that a lot of fabfilters algorithms have been updated and a an even better modulation system is in place, I suspect that volcano might be updated next!

Cheers

It was insane to me that the feedback Dan got was to "keep it simple" for this one. :smack:

Like...the deep dives and his clear, concise way of explaining things is a big part of what makes a Dan Worrall Fabfilter video so great in the first place.

Yeah seems quite diffuse, let’s hope for a proper follow up video where Dan goes nuts!
Well, if we tap on ff’s shoulders enough, then they might see it as some good bit of feedback to pitch Dan again. I know he has the drive and would deliver without much delay.

Cheers :phones:

There is indeed still quite a bit on our plate for the next couple of releases :-).

I can just imagine Late Replies with Sugarbytes Turnado in the feedback path. Oh lord.. imagine modulating the Turnado main slider (the one that morphs through all the crazy "scenes") with an envelope follower or some kind of sequencer/LFO thing. :D

Seems like a nice update. The drive and pitch features are very welcome. $45 USD to update doesn’t seem too bad.

I wonder how long until they update Twin? That’s the one that seems to really need a bit of a dusting off, IMO.

Once they update Twin and add a DAW, we can comfortably reside in an all-FabFilter ecosystem.

Russolo compares the evolution of music to the multiplication of machinery, pointing out that our once desolate sound environment has become increasingly filled with the noise of machines, encouraging musicians to create a more "complicated polyphony"[3] in order to provoke emotion and stir our sensibilities. He notes that music has been developing towards a more complicated polyphony by seeking greater variety in timbres and tone colors.

The more I explore Timeless 3, the more engaging and fascinating it becomes. An impressive and welcome update!

It’s really interesting to replace my v2 instances with v3, and actually see the same settings visualised. Some of the filters/modulations I’ve set by ear are fairly similar to if I’d had the visualisers to aid me. Fascinating, considering the claim that fabfilter’s fancy visuals can make one mix more with the eye than the ear. I do think the visuals influence my choices, but perhaps not as detrimentally as some have us believe. :phew:

Here is my current "go-to" default preset for most things.

Bell bands 1 and 3 are sort of "freely" usable though they are being modulated by the EVF duo.. but still it's completely possible to delete these and use them normally for whatever else you want.

The filters are a combination of a normal filter and a shelf to make what in my opinion works very well as a musical useful filter combination. I've assigned both the low and high pass filters + shelves to their own respective sliders for easy use.

To hear the preset in action you can listen to a little jam here.
