Yes, sadly. Only reason why I dont use the plugin is I have to login every single time. Would be nice, if you would need to login like every 30 days or something.
Thanks. I thought so :(
Two protections I don't come near, codemeter and iLok!

Like which DAW? Bitwig/Live? I just authorise once? or it needs to be login every time I want to use it? Unless installing Codemeter, right?

I meant in typical cases - no subscription, rent-to-own or demos - it just works like any other DAW, without requiring any login other than the 1st time when you install it. Codemeter does indeed have to run in the background, but I've no idea if and how often it connects to the Internet. It probably does.

Also if you push your buyers into doing stuff in other Dawz you're tempting fate...how long before they just lay their reason rack aside and just grab the latest of their 100's of new VST they just bought in the sale

Exactly. They were already half way out when they started buying VSTs instead of REs since Reason 9.5

I guess Reason Studios' dream is RRP will become like a Kontakt & Reaktor in one, which I guess might still happen but market is so saturated with great, much cheaper stuff that I highly doubt it. 5 years ago maybe there was a chance, but now? On the other hand, if the RE format is really that good as they make it out to be, then perhaps it's indeed very easy to port it to web, iPad OS / iOS, put it in hardware boxes - they've already teased all of that. While NI struggles to even support high-DPI screens, still.

It's interesting to watch where it all goes, but it's hardly exciting anymore.

Well, I have Reason Intro and I have to login every single time, when I open Reason or rack plugin. I guess I would need to install the Codemeter program to avoid that, but i am not going to install that shieet. I just dont understand that, if you once login, why it doesnt save the session and ask to login again after 14 or 30 days. Whats the point of login every single time.

The Reason Rack Plugin does not require a password every time you log in, because it stores the login details.

If you delete the password, then it will require the password after deleting.

I understand it so that keel is saying that he has to log in every time, not fill his password in every time.

Yes, I have to log in. I mean the window pop up, where is my username and password stored and then I just hit log in. When I restart the computer, I have to do it again.

Standalone requires a password every time it reboots.

Rack plugin does not require a password, you only need to log in once. It remembers your password. I have Reason Lite 11, Reason Siute 11 and the plugin doesn't require a password after reboot.

No it doesn't, as long as you have Codemeter running and are not subscribing, rent-to-owning or demoing any REs.

They are talking in case they don't install Codemeter, which I'm trying to avoid as well ;)

You are inattentively reading the messages above. keel didn't install codemeter.

Yes, I remember now! You are right. I have intro 10 and Lite 11. When last time I installed Lite 11, I didn't install Codemeter, but it worked as a plugin without a login (of course I did login first time, but I mean after that it was ok). I could play the synths (RE I bought like Antidote and Parsec2...etc) but I don't remember now if I needed to install Authorizer! Is it related to Codemeter, or it is just a Reason Studio's own authorization?

Anyway, if the standalone would work like the plugin, that would be fantastic, but it keeps bringing the login dialog every time I run it. It is not good for me this way! What if one day my internet is down (not very strange, as it happens!).
Oh, and I think in version 11 they throw away the ReWire out of the window, right? Nah! I think I will pass.

so he’s complaining about not having a way to run Reason without needing to login online despite knowing that’s what Codemeter allows you to do?

Are you safe?

Another thing about Reason 12 that could be important:

Yes, we'll bump the system requirements to macOS 10.13 and above and Windows 10 and above. This was a long time coming and it really helps development when we don't have support older, quite technically different systems.
The installer won't install at all on Windows 7, Windows 10 will be required to use Reason 12.
