DAW with best arrangment track?

What DAW has the best arrangment track in your opinion? Logic has one, but it's too simplistic, you can't simply duplicate and drag Parts around to change up the structure.
FL Studio had a Blocks feature, where Patterns where acting more kind of as Song/Track Parts and you could paint them in.
It's a bit sad that there are not more easy sophisticated arrangment features in daws to easily rearrange parts.
recommendations would be appreciated

Cubase, I'd say:
Although - functionally - you can basically do the same thing in Live or Bitwig, just sending vertical slices of arrangement to scenes, launching & looping them in different orders and then recording the 'performance' back to arranger.

In my opinion (i.e. for my needs) Reason is clearly the winner here - by a long shot.
But your mileage may vary, depending on your personal requierements.

Yes, actually you're very right - it's better than Cubase's:jens wrote: Fri May 21, 2021 3:08 pm In my opinion (i.e. for my needs) Reason is clearly the winner here - by a long shot.

hm, having used none of those, judging from the videos Studio One seem great. Simply being able to change the order in the Side Bar and using those Scratch Pads look lovely.

That is interesting, and at least does make Cubase seem less like the software equivalent of a Gucci or Coach bag. I mean, Coach and Gucci bags are cool-looking and have nice patterns and stuff, but there are plenty of other brands that function pretty much the same. Money has always been rather tight for me and well, that's kinda turned me into my dad when it comes to stuff like software.

No comparison to the mighty power of Reason's Blocks - which can be used/double as scratch-pads too btw. - if you really need to try a variety of very different arrangements both Studio One and Cubase might offer something over Reason, but for someone like me who basically never does that (I may try out little variations here or there ocassionally but mostly know which section should follow after which other one - but then again I mostly write songs, so that helps) Reason is sooo much more helpful in regards to getting your arrangement done asap...docbot wrote: Fri May 21, 2021 6:26 pm hm, having used none of those, judging from the videos Studio One seem great. yeah, how age-old must you be/ feel to consider Cubase any cool/stylish
I have a hard time thinking of a more dusty piece of software that can still be purchased...
it's just so hopelessly 90's...

You can. Global Tracks/Arrangement does exactly that. I'm not a die hard Logic user but this is a strange statement. It took me 45 seconds to open the Global Tracks, add a few Arrangement headers to parts to a song, then rearrange and copy them to my hearts delight.docbot wrote: Fri May 21, 2021 1:44 pm What DAW has the best arrangment track in your opinion? I think that this depends on the small details of how you like to work. I find Cubase's arranger track fiddly compared to Reason's Blocks. Granted, I haven't used Cubase in ages so they might have improved them significantly since I last tried to use them. I found some aspects of them useful, but, at the end of the day I'm more productive with Blocks when I want that workflow.

I love music tech, but there's nothing really stylish or cool about it in general. Bitwig is arguably the newest kid on the block, along with Luna. Bitwig looks like a toy, it's useful but it looks like a 12 year olds idea of a cool DAW, Luna is definitely about 15 years out of date design wise, and just came out. Then there's Livejens wrote: Fri May 21, 2021 7:24 pm

Maybe Studio One, but I think a lot of design ideas it has are far behind the times, "drag and drop" with icons representing VSTs is.... just a waste of time and wrist action.
