OK, so an alternative to Scaler but not a replacement. I agree the randomisation functions look very powerful and are something I don’t think Scaler has.

These tools and "assistants" are like looking for a needle in a haystack. People are lazy. Back in Bach's day you had to be able to improvise a fugue on spot. Learn to fluently play an instrument and you won't need these band aids. Kinda like electric bikes, no one wants to exert themselves...

How long will it take me to be as good as Bach?

My ex had grade 8 piano, could play just about anything by sight reading, but she couldn’t improvise for shit. Not even pentatonic over a blues progression.

Are you safe?

You are in the wrong forum. This is not the forum for music elitists with no imagination who think the only way to compose music is to follow well defined boundaries prescribed by the ancients.

Even in Bach's day, though, there was only one Bach. Not really a fair comparison for the rest of us mere mortals.

I own all audio modern tools (love em!) so of course I gave this one a quick spin tonight before dinner. I wasn’t sure what to make of it at first as I have and love things like scaler, sundog studio, J74 progressive (older stand alone version) and others. It really seems like a blend of the some of the chord selection bits of sundog (though I still really like it.... I seem to get farther away from stand-alone tools) and some of the clever strum/arps of the j74 stuff.

The altering of voices on the fly (manually or randomly) gives me that sundog feel I like when poking around for chord ideas. I had fun using the strum/timing feature to create controlled arps. Mixed that with a random chord track AND a custom chord track (playing only 1 or 2 notes in my custom chords) and I was able to have a never ending wash of goodness (multiple infinity modes activated!).

Used a generous helping of Byome FX with some sampletekk pianos. Rinse and repeat for sure.

Who said I follow well defined boundaries? Been through all that, I own the masters of "ASSistants", Symbolic Composer, OpusModus etc. Waste of LIFEtime...

You are still in the wrong forum. Nobody here really cares about your small minded opinion. Why are you even commenting? Seems to me, that is the "Waste of LIFEtime", commenting on something you don't even care about.

In Bach's days he was not supposed to be even Germany's top composer: The composers rated above were:
1. Hasse, 2. Händel (an international star), 3. Telemann, 4. the Graun brothers, 5. Stölzel

That may have been true then, but history has clearly rendered a different verdict.

In any event, my point was just that not everyone could - even in Bach's day - "improvise a fugue on spot."

Please let's end the Bach discussion and get Back to the "MIDI fx, arp, mapper, mangler, generator, chorder, controller, utility" discussion. Thanks to all.

I played with ChordJam quite a bit today. I found it paired quite nicely with some of the sounds from the just released Audio Ollie Taste Multipack 1. I am trying to wrap my head around the sequencer. It is kind of an odd thing, what with the robot channel and the human channel. I like the ability to save sequencer presets and then be able to quick load them with CC triggers. I wish there was an easy way to modify saved presets. The only way I could see was to load the preset, edit it, delete the old preset, and save the edited version with the same name. I was also able to get the plugin to crash, by creating a custom groove, assigning a sequence using the groove to a quickload slot, deleting the custom groove, and then clicking on the quickload slot that loaded the preset that used the deleted groove. I need to write up a bug report and submit it.

I am thinking about getting the
Random Generators Bundle which includes
Riffer
Playbeat
Chordjam
now $99.
But there may be some redundancy with Chordjam and Riffer?
