PSA: I noticed that Blamsoft (creators of VK-1/2, eXpanse, Zero, etc.) were not participating in May Madness. I contacted them via e-mail to ask if they're still planning to, because I hoped to buy Zero (I have almost everything else from them) and they replied with... adding Zero license to my account for free!

I don't think that's the only factor because I've been doing the betas since 6.5 yet I see no 12 beta in my account.antic604 wrote: Sat May 22, 2021 5:46 pmI signed up for beta when 10 was getting VST performance update and then recently for 11 high-res update. The license for 12 I just got 'automatically', but there's still no download available.killmaster wrote: Sat May 22, 2021 12:17 pmDid you all previously sign up for beta versions or did it just show up? Cause It didn't for me.

That was super nice of them, but sounds like they have given up on the Rack Extension platform, more or less.antic604 wrote: Sat May 22, 2021 5:50 pm PSA: I noticed that Blamsoft (creators of VK-1/2, eXpanse, Zero, etc.) were not participating in May Madness. There's no Lite version anymore.Azbest wrote: Sat May 22, 2021 8:37 pm Cool, I'll get the cheapest Lite version so I can resize my beloved Synapse DR-1 inside Ableton.
Also, RE2A.
Also, you can resize RRP in Ableton already, although it's gonna be blurry (unless you're using 200% scaling): https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/artic ... or-support

These guys can't make up their mind. Looks like they pulled the plug on Intro version aswell. I won't be buying a full version DAW so I can resize a reverb plugin and the resize trick you linked doesn't seem to apply to Mac.antic604 wrote: Sat May 22, 2021 8:51 pmThere's no Lite version anymore.Azbest wrote: Sat May 22, 2021 8:37 pm Cool, I'll get the cheapest Lite version so I can resize my beloved Synapse DR-1 inside Ableton.

They want you to subscribe to Reason+ for $20 / monthAzbest wrote: Sat May 22, 2021 9:13 pmThese guys can't make up their mind. Looks like they pulled the plug on Intro version aswell. They've pulled the plug on Reason Intro ? It's only been out one version. If the idea was to tempt people to the full version of Reason only, it backfired as far as I am concerned. I like the VST rack I can use in Cubase, but i'd never want to move to the program as a DAW. I was hoping all VST's in Reason would be RE's you could add to Intro. But alas not.Azbest wrote: Sat May 22, 2021 9:13 pmThese guys can't make up their mind. Looks like they pulled the plug on Intro version aswell. I guess they will reintroduce Lite/Intro since resizing might be a big selling point for VST rack users (it is for me). But with all the subscription bollocks they're pulling off lately... who knows.

Doubt it. You're meant to either get the whole Reason (with a DAW they don't develop anymore) or sbscribe to Reason+.Azbest wrote: Sat May 22, 2021 9:26 pm I guess they will reintroduce Lite/Intro since resizing might be a big selling point for VST rack users (it is for me). Same goes for the Reason Studios Suite. If I knew that I would have stayed away since there were only 3-4 Rack Extensions I didn't have already when upgrading. I thought they would have something unique for Suite coming, why would they otherwise market it as "Suite"? And it's not like you get treated any differently either. Loyal customers are always the ones getting screwed over and over.LeVzi wrote: Sat May 22, 2021 9:18 pm They've pulled the plug on Reason Intro ? It's only been out one version. (This isn't something that is unique with Reason Studios, just more obvious)

It does feel like they're looking for something that they can't seem to find in terms of business model. If you think about it though, Reason new is a very competitively priced collection of plugins plus rack with an integrated store as well as being a great subhost for your existing VSTs. It's not that expensive as a collection of decent instruments and effects. I'm not a fan of the old stuff, but those instruments/fx can sometimes be useful, however, the rack is second to none and the new stuff is much better. Compare it to other bundles with racks, e.g., Soundtoys, in terms of price and flexibility and I think that it's reasonably priced, as just a set of plugins with a fantastic rack.Azbest wrote: Sat May 22, 2021 9:13 pmThese guys can't make up their mind. Reason DAW can host VST2, RRP cannot. And still no VST3 even as one by one devs are succumbing to pressure from Steinberg to drop VST2. So as a VST host we are getting very mixed messages on how complete/useful this is supposed to be.ghettosynth wrote: Sun May 23, 2021 2:11 am It does feel like they're looking for something that they can't seem to find in terms of business model. I certainly enjoy using the reason plugins inside Cubase, that was something I always wanted to do. I was really hoping Reason Intro, or Reason Lite would be the rack and you could buy any of their modules as RE's including the ones that were always just a part of reason like Malstrom.ghettosynth wrote: Sun May 23, 2021 2:11 amIt does feel like they're looking for something that they can't seem to find in terms of business model. Does seem like they are a bit lost as to what they are now, a full DAW or a plugin. When Intro came about and could be used as a plugin, I hoped they'd gained a bunch of new users, I was one for sure. I hope they expand on that as it can only benefit the development of the full studio too for those who love Reason. (I cannot stand the editor and project screen, its just horrendous tbh)

You're confusing things. A DAW can host whatever plugins they like, incl. VST2 and Steinberg cannot pressure anyone from it. What Steinberg can do, is not support any NEW plugins being released in VST2 format. That's why RRP was released in VST2 format.imrae wrote: Sun May 23, 2021 7:05 amReason DAW can host VST2, RRP cannot.
