Newbie question Waveform free 11/audio

Hi all
Ive decided to dip my toes back into the merky waters of EDM after some years away from all this fun and after some research I thought Id go with Waveform free 11. Ive gone through the setup process and Im just using Windows 10 for audio for now.
In the main window I can listen to loop previews and in settings when I click test(audio) I hear the test tone but when I drag a loop onto a track and hit play on the transport controls it plays and the peak meters are moving but no audio ??? (this is my first track).
I can play and listen to all demo songs no problem ???
Ive looked through the manual and watched some youtube but I cant work out what Im not doing,thanks for your advice in advance.

Hi all you can now ignore my last post as I have figured it out now. I had dropped a sample loop into a track that had been set to audio input and not no input which is required for samples hence I could see it playing but couldnt hear it,I said I was new to this
