So I got the 11 for £130 then jumped in with both feet and upgraded top suite as AudioDeluxe were doing an extra 15% off and I had about $25 of credits (jumbucks or whatever they call them!) - I think going from the free 11 'lite' to suite has cost me under £270 (with free 12 still to come). There are a lot of very cool instruments (to use in my rack in other DAWS as well as reason) and players in the suite edition!
So I for one am all in all based on hi-res scalable graphics coming
I wonder if they will do a 12 'suite', seems to me the suite version is the same with about a grands worth of RE's thrown in- very much like the FL Studio 'all plug ins' edition?

No. From now on Reason+ is the all-in, always up-to-date Reason + RRP + Reason Studios' RE package.SLiC wrote: Tue May 25, 2021 3:37 pmI wonder if they will do a 12 'suite', seems to me the suite version is the same with about a grands worth of RE's thrown in- very much like the FL Studio 'all plug ins' edition?

No, the Suite product line is cancelled. That said, any Suite owner will be able to update to 12 and bring their RE's that they got with Suite along with them.

Cheers guys- that's what I figured....there is no difference between 11 and 11 suite (they both install) other than the bundled RE's...Only difference I can see is the word 'suite' on the boot screen! There are a couple of RE's since suite, so I wasn't sure if they would do a 12 suite and include the FM synth etc...I have the free 12 update either way, so all good and I am more than happy with the RE's I have- take me a year to go through them!

And funnily enough I resisted purchasing both Algoritm and Friktion because I assumed they would be in 12 Suite and considered upgrading to it and now I won't purchase them because I fear that the Props won't really work on the Sequencer anymore...
Great business sense!

Suite is generous, but the VSTi support is a heavy competitor to its offerings. So not a must, just a good deal that did not last. No one really does or what?

No, I think they removed it because it made faithful Reason users mad - they've bought the included REs for $50-100 a piece and new users got them below $10 a piece. Also if they'd keep it up lots of people wouldn't buy REs they're releasing between Reason versions, because they'd wait for them to be included in Suite for significantly reduced price.TribeOfHǫfuð wrote: Tue May 25, 2021 8:04 pm Suite is generous, but the VSTi support is a heavy competitor to its offerings. It was a good one-off idea to entice users who never used Reason or those that had very old, unused license to buy/uprade respectively & take their toys to other DAW via RRP, which is THE product right now.

The rack is the excuse for any other DAW user to buy Reason right now (like I did), you don’t have to think about swapping DAWs...it’s a rack full of superb instruments and fx (especially suite) with low cpu you can use in any DAW as an instrument or audio fx...it works seamlessly in Bitwig, controls are exposed, labelled and can be modulated etc.
It’s a bonus you also get a free DAW thrown in which a lot of people like (it has some cool tricks and features...) but the revolution for me (having not used Reason for a while) was the ‘players’....very cool, quite a modular like experience....you can make a pretty good track in Reason without using the linear DAW stuff!

Afair, they just removed it the same day as announcing the Reason +, so I think they may have seen Suite as a competitor to themselves. Having subscriptions with upcoming discount on REs or just selling their REs one by one seems better business now I guess.antic604 wrote: Tue May 25, 2021 8:27 pm No, I think they removed it because it made faithful Reason users mad - they've bought the included REs for $50-100 a piece and new users got them below $10 a piece.

that... depends a lot on your musical objectives and your own personal definition of "pretty good track", I guess...SLiC wrote: Tue May 25, 2021 8:38 pm you can make a pretty good track in Reason without using the linear DAW stuff!

Their recent business decisions remind me of a drunk person going grocery shopping...
and it is far far from being surprising or unexplainable:

They simply chose the wrong guy - it happens.
It's a damn shame though.
We now know much more about that than we could ever wish to know....It remains to be seen what direction Agevik steers Propellerhead and its prized Reason DAW towards

Both have their strengths and weaknesses that kind of compliment each other.
Though I kind wish bitwig would add some things to make it great.

We shall see. They already have subscribers. They can grow no matter their current number.jens wrote: Tue May 25, 2021 8:48 pm Their recent business decisions remind me of a drunk person going grocery shopping...
