Ever wanted a way to customise your VST Instrument and Effect plugins which come with no specific control options to do so ? Well... there is a way to do so if it meets a few requirements...
This utility program is for Windows users... your use of it is entirely at your own risk.
Note that the 'Home' key is used to bring up the options.
I made this video to show you this witchcraft..

that was pretty uninspring and already too technical. How am I supposed to know what graphics rendering an application uses and why can't the tool figure that out by itself? Also the text says this worked because it got injected and Rapid used OpenGL rendering. So does the tool change every Rapid instance in the project when the editor is open or is this per window? Or anything that uses OpenGL in general? I'd have wished for a more straight forward video, not 30 sec useless intro and a bunch of sliders moving

All you'd need to do is try each one and see what works but it's a fair bet that if the application is cross-platform, it will use OpenGL.
My question is whether or not it works on a per-instance basis? It would be kinda cool to be able to shade each instance of the same plugin to match the colour assigned in your host application. I often find myself tweaking the wrong instance.

What graphics engine an application uses is an open book question really to that of which you can discover through experimentation or by contacting the developer, if you have no idea. The important info in the case of Studio One though is that it doesn't affect the GUI colours of the host but instead affects that of the plugins that use OpenGL. The effects of the plugin and the colours you use are global so Native Instruments Replika for instance will change if they are changed in Rapid. The settings can be disabled but they will remain if you quit and shut down for another day.MirkoVanHauten wrote: Wed May 26, 2021 1:13 am that was pretty uninspring and already too technical. The video contained information towards the end...
I created the music in just two nights as well as everything else.

For those that use Parawaves Rapid, you can find this GUI skin in my Rapid GUI thread.
And you too can do some nice stuff with Reshader like this...including faded corners
(No that's not a photoshop effect).

I know this is a windows app, but a lot of cross-platform plugins are already using Metal for rendering on macOS, because OpenGL is being depreciated. I don't know what these use on windowsBONES wrote: Wed May 26, 2021 1:33 am All you'd need to do is try each one and see what works but it's a fair bet that if the application is cross-platform, it will use OpenGL.

Metal is a further attempt by Apple to lock in developers and customers to their platform, via yet another proprietary standard. OpenGL, by being an open standard, makes it easier for developers because it works on all platforms so, as I said, if the application is cross-platform, it is likely it will use OpenGL, which isn't going anywhere, no matter how much Apple might wish it were otherwise.

If you don't have Rapid, it does work with Vital....

It also works with Voltage Modular.

These childish colours are not really appealing my friend. Looks like a kid toy.

Don't you think this post would be better suited in the DSP and Plug-in Development section of this forum? It's not exclusive to synths.

The colour utility is lots of fun with Rapid. It would be cool if Rapid had it's colourful visualisation animation you see in the browser on a separate screen but much bigger, because you can do some crazy cool effects with Reshader.

Did anyone ever answer that question? I thought it was a good idea.BONES wrote: Wed May 26, 2021 1:33 am My question is whether or not it works on a per-instance basis?
