Do you mean there is a difference between v10 and v11 drum racks?

I don't have v11 anymore, but I have v10. Is it v11 with 64bit now or still 32bit? (I mean the bit depth recording).

There are 2 things OP could've meant:
1) Racks in 11 in general got up to 16 macros + randomisation & snapshots
2) There's new sound packs using Drum Racks

You still can buy it back! I made +10EUR profit selling mine & buying it back 4 weeks later, so I'll laugh to the face of anyone who tells me you can't make money with music nowadays

Well, actually I re bought all the DAWs I sold but not to make money really, but just I miss them

Now, I have all my children back home, I will take care of them and listen to every one's problems and try to fix them

But, seriously, I don't see myself upgrading to v11 (again). First upgrade was free, but all the new additions are not necessary for me. The drum racks are already great in v10 and in Suite there are tons samples and kits. But, I might look for making some specific "effects" kits by inserting synths to the pads. I might use Operator/Collision for these or some external synths from Reaktor for example.

I have an m1 MBP running Big Sur and Ableton 11 and the 808 drum rack uses about 20-30% CPU when running at 96khz. Ableton is pretty much unusable for me. Any fixes ?

v4 announced today is Apple Silicon native

I have heard a lot of talk about Bitwig (tapeop, sonicstate) but am mid-project so getting into a new DAW at this point is a bit dauting. Also, I like the Push 2 and I like the workflow in Ableton up to a point so it's just a shame that it is so incredibly rusty and squeaky. It's feature heavy but can't handle heavy use of the features.

I will take a look at bitwig someday though.

I replied (didn't quote you though) in the Live 11 thread with a comment from the M1 thread in the beta forum about this problem. Basically, it's a known issue, one that was reported months ago and still hasn't been fixed.

I believe as a Live 11 license owner, you can apply to join the beta program, something as an M1 owner I encourage you to do. If you don't want to actively participate that's fine, but at least you can keep up to date with M1 problems and fixes.

PB. Yes I read it. Just haven't had the chance to reply. You make valid points. I will check it out. I think I was part of the beta program before Live 11 normal came out so I don't know if that is something that has continued after installing Live 11 (non-beta).

I'll definitely look into your suggestions. Thanks for the time taken to help out.
