Volumeexportproblem with Cubase SX 2

Everytime i export my mixes with cubase, their are very quiet, in the loudes places they just get to -6 db! so what could i do to normalise my mixes automaticly after i exportet them? and yes, when i look at the mixer output, it rises up to +1 db (before exporting)

What tools do you use to view these levels? Be sure not to compare RMS (average) levels with peaks!

it's a long shot, but do you per chance use a SW1000XG and when you say export, do you mean recording the soundcard's output? if not, i can't help i'm afraid...

or, do you use FX post-fader (= do you put FX in the last 2 master FX slots)?
