Comparing Ryzen Vs the older AMD FX 8350 /8370 series

There's not much difference in the older 2012/2014 amd fx 8350/8370 and moreover almost none in comparison to a powerful ryzen either. Here's the 8350 processor I just bought:

This should be good news for those who are trying to save money. The only downside about the amd chip is that the used chips can often have bent pins.

Here's the instructions for installing it into the older asus board above mentioned. I would also add, that the ram required can be had cheaply. From what I read, you may be governed to 12 gb's of ram after the upgrade; could be wrong. That may vary.

Here is a good comparison of the (one fan) snowman vs the cooler 212 evo; which interestingly is only 2 celcius away in temp but it is much quieter in a large way. Here is a video worth watching:

overall, you can match a ryzen for the most part with cheap parts. On a budget? then get to it, and don't cheapen yourself by being satiated by cheesy 3ghz chips. Don't settle for anything less than 4ghz.

Though, if you did not have a decent gpu about - this may cost some. I'll shop around for the best price, but the better I have found is the gtx 960 on aliexpress by szmz. I bought at the official store however. Sometimes they have deals and ask less!

I don't think it's a valid comparison. You're comparing it to a slower laptop 15w CPU against a a faster desktop 125w CPU. I have AMD FX-8350 Eight-Core.

You have a good point. Though in the back of My mind I think Ryzen's numbers aren't real; only the realization of a single threaded exercise in unhindered operation.

I don't like the idea of having the gpu in My cpu. I just don't believe the numbers they provide. And though you're right in the way of statistics, it's an older example. But still I'm more apt to believe the numbers of the 15 rather than the ryzen.
And I had two I7's which were a waste of time, very beefy, but they were junk.
Though both were reaching 4 k, 6 cores 8 cores both useless. Where a strange lag existed was in a render of fonts. Would you believe the i7's render graphics quickly but then when you try to render vast assemblies of fonts it slows to a trickle.
My intel core 2 3.33 beat the 8 core by an hour.

The younger people these days make tests utilizing ideal conditions. I like the older stress tests that used to barrage with data.

I don't believe those numbers at all from experience. I guess it makes Me hope that the 8350 is a positive experience.
