I'm looking for an effect that adds FM radio like distortions. Voxengo Radio seemed perfect but is unavailable. Anything else I should check out?

Audiothing Speakers might be best option (might still be on sale).
Alos Vybz or RC-20 (might still be on sale)? Not sure what is free or cheaper.

What kind of of FM distortion do you mean?

Im am really not sure any of the afore-mentioned plugins can really do much of this - it's certainly not at all what they say on the tin.

Having thought about it for a moment I think Waves Berzerk might be the best bet.

Not sure exactly what Radio adds but maybe give Nomad Factories Garbage LSD a look. I've found it great for all those 'wrong' kind of distortions. Nasty filter models, ring mod, drive, lofi (sample rate reduction etc) convolver and maybe the best bit a 'radio eq' which really does give that busted old transistor radio feel.

It's listed at $179 but it's always in their sales for ~$29, one site even gave it away free with a purchase a while back.

Yes like that. Distortion on the radio, when you can't get a clear signal on a radio station. Maybe electrical interference.jens wrote: ↑Fri May 28, 2021 6:21 am What kind of of FM distortion do you mean?

Audiothing Speakers is great indeed.
You may also find some impulse responses of radios on the internet, and load it into your convolution plugin of choice.
Playing with HP, LP and some saturation should also get you in the ballpark.
Blue Cat Destructor also features some presets aimed at recreating the typical bandwidth/distorsion combo of radios, smartphones, etc.
