Product page on the website doesn't seem to, as far as I can tell, list the plugin formats it comes in or what the copy protection is. Probably necessary information before downloading a 1.5gb file.

I already read all that. I've got plenty of hard drive space, but the download (via their download manager) never completes. On their website, there is a link for individual installers, but clicking on it doesn't show anything. Maybe I should try a different browser.

the download problem is the same here; but actually it´s queued the first second and doesnt move anywhere.
Does anyone know how to accelerate the Envelope zoom? I do this with middle mouse wheel but takes ages to zoom out or in.

I also figured something out with the phaser; it moves after the note stops and i had to quickly turn my volume down; otherwise i think it can blow your speaker in the bass area.

In the manual it says VST, AAX for PC, and VST, AAX and AU for Mac (and it works with Linux).
It only runs in 64-bit host applications.

It also mentions - "Enter your email address and password from Tracktion Marketplace and click on “Register” to unlock F-em. You need an active internet connection for this procedure. You can alternatively click on the “Offline Unlock” button, if you computer has no internet connection."

I'm not sure if this reply was meant for me or not?

My post you quoted wasn't in response to you or anyone else. I just think the product page doesn't give enough relevant information (or if it does I missed it).

I didn't even try to download the demo, both because of the lack of info I already stated, and because my antivirus said there was suspicious behavior coming from the website.

Thank you for the info, much appreciated.

I definitely shouldn't have to find a manual for a product in order to get basic information about the product. This is bad form.

I thought the only way to zoom was to use the magnify glass icon. (?)

Nvm - I see what you mean now.

you can by scrolling with the mouse wheel. but it´s slow as hell. and if you move one dot outside the window or want to zoom in it takes so long. fm8 is way quicker there.

Oops. You're right, the product page doesn't give enough info. The manual is sketchy on some things, like sample formats. It mentions that most of the factory samples are single samples, except for the drum kits. So, how do you load your own multisamples? These kinds of things should be made clear.

Bought this today, it is awesome. Only one little complaint, there doesn’t seem to be a way to load a default init patch.

After watching the preset showcase video, I'm not sure I'm missing anything by not having the factory content. I'll play around with it for a few days, and if it works ok, then I'll make a decision about buying it.

Thanks for this! Have to watch it too. So far i´m a bit put off by it. It surely has some great potential but i miss the basics. Zooming in and out of curves is a pain in the ass; preset handling doesnt work smooth for me and it feels slow; which may be because of using it on my old mac and havent checked it with the new one.
moving numbers in the fm matrix is slow too. This all takes too long when comparing it to fm8 or the arturia dx7 and let me loose fun digging into this although there are so many possibilities. whats your thought?

You can initialize each layer and save it as an Init patch.

This is in the manual:
"Double click on the third paper bin symbol to to initialize the
corresponding Layer to its basic settings."

Thanks, I came across that in the manual after making this post. Usually Tracktion-developed instruments have a "Default" preset in the browser that initializes all values, so I was confused when I didn't see one.
