So I have R11 Suite. I applied to hi res beta thing months ago.

When I log in to My Products at Reasonstudios I can see Reason 12 beta license and details in my account.

However there is not beta download button. Is there some link or am I supposed to visit some beta endpoint URL which is where exactly?

I never received any email with further instructions (or perhaps it ended it SPAM and got deleted).

Asking here, perhaps someone already figured it out - before I open support ticket there.

I'm looking forward to this release. HD GUI: About damn time! New sampler and new, customizable combinator: very welcome but we'll see how they are going to be. Faster, better preset browser: YES! Hopefully this will deliver! One of the weakest points in Reason IMO. About the DAW... there are some wishes I have that are quite standard in other DAWs, track folders, versions, markers, a couple more editing tools... but these are all nice to haves but not super-necessary for me. I'm mostly working with MIDI, not so much with audio. I'd really like to see an improved darker UI with more track-coloring options (without sacrificing the skeuomorphism UI). And I'd like to be able to save blocks arrangements as templates without having to save them as a whole song template.

Interestingly I haven't had an email yet saying I am eligible (I applied) but it has let me download....

Not sure I will run it (or if it will let me) as it sounds like it will overwrite the R11 Rack with the beta....if its just a few HiRes devices in the rack and the new search I can wait I think...until the new combiner or sampler pop up :-)

Update- I ran it and everything works- logged in no problems. I tried not installing the rack (didn't select it from install) but that seems to have made my RRP from 11 stop working so you definably cant have both, but 11 and 12 standalone run side by side fine.

Yep that worked, I am in. Downloading.

Thanks.

Wanna know something funny? I just logged to my ticket area over at Reasonstudios because I wanted to reply in my own ticket and tell them that I received a help from 3rd party and I wanted to close my ticket or set status to resolved.

Some really nice soul over at Reasonstudios support department completely deleted my ticket.

Not closed, they simply deleted it. Ticket was there, it's even in my email but now it's gone from their system. Even though I sent them my account screenshot where all my licenses were visible and asked very politely can they provide me a beta link. Not even no go to hell - they just deleted my ticket.

Seems very unusual but I am just reading reasontalk and it appear as I am not the only one experiencing deleted tickets. Other people had that same treatment as well (unrelated to Reason 12 beta).

I am not making a drama just finding it very unusual that one has to rely on 3rd party forum just in order to receive support.

Again thanks for the link.

I have overall good experience with support, but sometimes it is a little weird when they want me to evaluate their service before the ticket is closed. It is not to offend them that I do not answer, it is just the idea of evaluating something that is not over is kind of What? I guess that means the support mainly are entrusted humans. Maybe it is better than if most things were done by bots.

Reason 12 had one big goal in mind: level up the Rack experience.
Fitting that they talk about Reason like a video game.

Indeed! A good video game should be fun - and that's how most users find working in Reason is. :tu:

Doing stuff like wiring the rack is still laboriously slow, so even if they do hi-res graphics, the actual system is still as gimped as it's ever been. It would have been better if they modernised how everything is connected, and no, the long existing white / black text popup menu isn't a nice solution for that. A new popout inspector panel would be better showing all the I/O connections.

And yet - it's still an order of magnitude more inspiring to work in compared to that train wreck of DAW known as Studio One...

Awwww me and ScottyM (known here at KVR as THE INTRANCER) go back many many years - it's all in good fun. He used to be a huge Reason fan (with some very "interesting" GUI/UX ideas) but then jumped ship to Studio One. He knows I'm just kidding.

Not that I want to interrupt your argument, but, no, it isn't. :)

IMO, of course. I once was very attracted to Reason, but then I went a bit deeper under the surface, and found out what a pain some things are, which are child's play in other DAW's... to be fair, Propellerhead did a lot to improve that, though. No more need for complicated routing to create a simple ping pong delay. Or tricks to achieve sidechain compression. Yes, I know that's been a while back, but, it sort of imprinted in my memory...
