Thanks for the information. Makes sense to me. Cheers!jcredland wrote: Wed Jun 02, 2021 8:27 am When there’s an important update a little orange dot will appear by the menu in the plugin. And if you open the menu then there will be a link to take you to the update page.
We don’t send an email for every minor update as I think it’d just be a bit spammy?

Hmm. I think I'm gonna buy it. A freebie added to every purchase at Pluginboutique sealed the deal - Fat Channel XT is fantastic (I use it often in Studio One):

Awesome. I thought someone would appreciate an LFO that could play really slowlyepiphaneia wrote: Wed Jun 02, 2021 12:07 pm That´s what I thought, but setting modulation speed to 128 bars and having (e.g.) a phaser or frequency shift slowly change over several minutes without having to draw automation curves got me![]()
It also goes to the low audio rates in free mode which should make for some wacky noises.

I've been checking out Infiltrator by Devious Machines (link below), as a viable alternative to the classic multipurpose LFOTool (and Effectrix).
While it certainly delivers, I'm having trouble figuring out how to modulate any other parameter than the big knob in the middle, such as the filter resonance and mix %.
My question is, am I missing something (confirmed smoothbrain) or is the feature really not there?

Yes. Your brain is not smooth.adugnasimon wrote: Thu Jun 03, 2021 1:47 am I've been checking out Infiltrator by Devious Machines (link below), as a viable alternative to the classic multipurpose LFOTool (and Effectrix).

The envelope allows you to modulate the main parameter for each effect.
The macros can be routed to almost anything.
And the sequencer allows you to turn effects on and off, covering a bunch of cases where wet/dry automation might have been important.
We were keen to keep the design as simple as possible, and it's actually turned out to be enough for about 98% of uses (see the 700 presets for examples).
However there's a roadmap of improvements and feature requests. And we are having a discussion about additional modulation capabilities back at Devious Machines HQ. Although I think any modulation changes will come after M1 support, further quality improvements and some additional effects.
cheers! Jim.

Alas, the macro button can´t be easily assigned a midi cc (right-click/learn cc automation as it is widely done would be good) when being used as a "midi controlled effect" in Logic
... and that´s where I have a feature request that would make life a LOT easier for me: Right now, if a sequencer step is off, it turns off the output of said effect. It would be great if I could switch off the input of the effect instead - as that´s probably only relevant for reverb and delay, such a switch might be tucked in the reverb/delay interfaces instead of cluttering up the sequencer.jcredland wrote: Thu Jun 03, 2021 1:28 pm And the sequencer allows you to turn effects on and off, covering a bunch of cases where wet/dry automation might have been important.
If I add a delay with high feedback to the first note of a sequence or a big reverb to the first drum hit of a loop, I would want that to ring out without affecting more incoming notes. Maybe that´s possible already and I just haven´t figured it out?

Can you build what you need with a Gain effect (to gate the input) followed by your reverb effect? Depends how complicated you are getting with the rest of your patch, but that worked for me when I wanted to do something similar.

Maybe I´m not getting it yet (please bear with me):jcredland wrote: Fri Jun 04, 2021 12:23 pm Can you build what you need with a Gain effect (to gate the input) followed by your reverb effect? At least I haven´t figured out how... let´s say I have a sequence of 16 8th notes, and the first one is supposed to have a 16th delay with heavy feedback.
I first tried this: Set the Infiltrator sequence length to 16, clicked the first step of the delay effect "active", and then, indeed, the output was off from step 2 onwards. No more feedback.
Next I checked audio triggering, but ( 1 ) the trigger affects the main curve (and therefore indirectly the main parameter, ie the reverb size or the delay time) and not the on/off state of an effect, and ( 2 ) that would be level dependent anyway, whereas I target "every xth step".
Then I checked sequencer/midi triggering, but again, that would retrigger the main curve and thus modify the main parameter (reverb size/delay time), not the input. With that method I could give the first step a really huge reverb, but all other steps would inevitably have a small reverb (as I would be retriggering the reverb size modulation curve)?

I made a quick demo ... ... this sort of thing? There are probably other ways to do it. Steps here:
- Add some gating
Adjust master mix
Apply long feedback effects to gated signal
Switch between different effects with the sequencer
Profit.

The one minor drawback being I would probably need a second instance if I wanted a 100% wet phaser, freq shifter or comb filter first before the "feedback delay on step 1", correct?

even finer gradations for the rate would suit me eg 0.015 or 128 and also 127 bars as I make abstract and installation work that can be 20 mins or longer and am loving the free running modes - even so I really appreciate the long time scales and that is one of the reasons I have bought infiltrator. I dont really do beats at all much but Infiltrator is still great for mejcredland wrote: Wed Jun 02, 2021 10:25 pmAwesome. Yes, I think you’d need a second instance for that. Unless I can think of a bright idea laterepiphaneia wrote: Fri Jun 04, 2021 8:31 pmjcredland wrote: Fri Jun 04, 2021 7:07 pmIf you wanted to switch between a gated effect and some other set of effects I'd need to have a slightly longer think about it. Profit. That´s ( a ) a clever solution and ( b ) great support, thanks! I didn´t think of that because I kept the master mix at 100% all the time and only adjusted the individual effects´ mixes.
