Really enjoying Drive shaper and krush from Cableguys. Quite capable of so much.
The inner workings of vurts mind are a force to be reckoned with.
music is a need in my life...yes I could survive without it but tbh I dont know how

Was just coming here to post this. It's quite good. Definitely on the more subtle-side, not distortion (unless you engage the Clip function and/or drive it really hard). TBProAudio make great tools.heavymetalmixer wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 3:40 pm TB Pro Audio in a collab with Gearspace (previously Gear Slutz for the friends) released a new free saturation plugin that looks pretty cool (I've yet to try it), maybe some of you could like it:

Don't really need another Saturation plugin, but if I wouldn't have I'd check it out for sure.

Voosteq Material Compressor is being discussed here viewtopic.php?f=6&t=566082 and is part compressor and part saturation tool. It's one of the most subjective plugins I've used in terms of the parameters and what they do. All kinds of vibe and tone available here with a lot of soundstage options.
It's getting some attention because its on sale, $40 down from $150. In reading the GS thread it has some history and appears the dev massaged it into a very nice tool with the help of user feedback. always nice ot see!

Just installed the TBproAudio free one; expect great things from it! Also Sonimus Satson is worth a mention for more subtle stuff but it also adds 'console' character with the crosstalk on the busses. these are light on the cpu.
But a brand not mentioned yet worth checking out IMO is Tone Empire. Everything they do is 'color'
I was after an API 2500 compressor and now have their 'Model 5000' which is a 2500/SSL hybrid, so i still don't have an API haha.
I wouldn't have spend the normal $99 for it as there was no 'need' for it, BUT this is why im posting here;
They have a sale going on: 3 products for $99, there's 2 bundles but you can just choose 3 and you'll see the discount.
I demoed several plugs and went with Model 5000, Reeligt Pro (6x tapes) and Black Q because i think these were most useful to me currently. these are all pretty cpu intensive though (and have oversampling).
These offer great sounding color to my tools and 'Goliath' is on on my list for a black friday or whatever; that is an impressive thing but was the most cpu hungry and made LPX crash when switching O.S. so i left it.
Didn't expect to get an 'EQ' in favor of of one of the other compressors but Black Q is stunning!
Sale is on for 'a limited time'

Oh The TBaudio Gsat+ also has gain staging built in - that's very useful. It's a very complete plugin with tasty features

Gsatplus seems a bit buggy in Reaper sadly. At least trying to run it live after a vsti produces silence or unpredictable results.
That said, I almost never use vstis, so maybe I'm missing something obvious...
