I think this happens for me with effects and modules which can do a lot of different things but they can only do one of those things at a time. It seems like a good use of space but then I want to be able to use two functions at once, so I end up getting a second one, which is not a great use of space, lol.
I’m guessing that’s how you ended up with two CVz!

I’m adding Endorphins Milky Way (used) because I couldn’t make up my mind on a delay/reverb module. And don’t worry, I’ve researched the noise issues too, but I’m hoping I won’t run into it. I don’t think this will be a keeper, but if it is, it’ll be the same, pretty much set to one or two fx and that’s it!

doubles i have, wasp filter and bastl cinnamon filter. the latter, i won both here in the charity auction for bugger all. and it's got lovely drive

other than that, couple of different lfo modules ive got two of.
and i guess, clouds and supercell is counted really?
oh and 4 of them crossover/external in/out things

i want a second cvz.
and "if" i expand once this rack is filled, i think a second morphagene may happen. it may anyway, i still haven't spent all my rack space :hihi:

I think Make Noise's next desktop instrument should be based on parts of Morphagene.

Once I've got this rack (still in the mail) filled out, Morphagene and Mimeophon are going back into a pod. What I'd really like is one portable and one fixed!

Post

yeah a pod or nifty case might not be a terrible idea. something portable.
although i could change it about and use the make noise skiff, 2 morphagene and a mimeophone, with a bit of space for a couple of modulation and rosie.
that with my pedals and guitar, i can get out to the local venue for live jams! (when it reopens).

:help:
...and two Clouds, and two Tides and two Hertz Donuts and two Maths and...

In the Serge modular land, all the modules are based on a small number of basic building block circuits which are just wired up in different ways to focus on a particular function. In that case, it makes sense to have 4 DSGs because you might use one slope generator as an LFO on as an envelope, one as a slew, one as a filter, etc. They aren't 'modes' so much as different ways to patch those modules.

yeah, my bug is a good few dupes considering its size in comparison.
several lpgs, couple of svfilters, 2 bugcrushers (just because)(well, its either crushing or sample n hold) lfos, he didnt have many to choose from :hihi:
but thats just a phat bass mono synth as far as im concerned (it can do higher, but i like the bottom end in it, kicks my moog minitaurs ass for wall vibrating :hihi: )

I've got my Synthrotek custom-cut rails today and it looks they're going to fit nicely. This is going to be my project over the weekend as I have lots to reorganize.

I just put an online order in for more sliding nuts. I did not calculate correctly at all. Everything was in pairs except for the nuts! :dog:

Mordax DATA is on my expansion wishlist. I didn't realize until last week that it did more than the Oscilloscope. It's actually a great deal for what it offers compared to getting separate modules for each.

I had tried to avoid it by getting a free standing two channel Oscilloscope which I had inquired about some pages back, which did work ok-ish, (at least it looked cool, as it has a larger display) but was just not satisfactory in the end.

Sooo... when a batch of Mordax suddenly became available.

VCV was the gateway drug for me into Eurorack. I am so used to using scopes and voltmeters to figure out what is going on that the first module I bought was an ES-9. I imagined a future of the happy harmony of software and hardware.

Maybe that future lies down the line but at the moment I find that when I am using the hardware I'm not very interested in connecting a computer to it (partly due to lack of space, but mostly due to not looking at a computer).

Hence the Mordax DATA. As you note there is much more in there than just the scope though.

Elevator Sound (UK) has them in stock.

Are the Mordax modules that hard to come by?

I guess it doesn't matter for me at the moment (I'll remind myself repeatedly). I've topped my weekend spending already. I added on Overseer and Ears to everything else also on delivery (Plaits, Cascade, Milky Way, and Running Order).

The plan is to keep Morphagene, Mimeophon in the same Pod as Ears and Rosie. The 2nd Pod will be QD (arrived today) with Running Order, Milky Way, and *maybe* Plaits. This all works as long as I don't get the dreaded Endorphins noise.

I've loved having the portable pods, so before committing things to be fixed in the desk I'm trying to figure what I'd like to be free.

Thie missus birthday is up next, so let's see how much restraint I have (until the next decent sale).
