In short, I left Ableton because of Bitwig. Although Ableton has addresses many of the issues that caused me to switch, once you get used to the modulation system and the device configurations, it's impossible to go back. I'd love to have the whole instrument and effects catalog in Bitwig though. I prefer them to Bitwig's devices.

Im close to leaving because on my windows computer its rather instable and it lags but besides that I hate to wait always so long to hen bouncing to audio.

I left it because it's not Apple silicon native app yet. Using Logic Pro for now, but I plan to return to Ableton once the native version is done.

I left Ableton because the GUI sucked and was confusing to try and use, which wasn't really helped due to it crashing.

I found the performance on ARM using Rosetta II adequate. Depends on what you’re doing. The interface is super snappy but the audio performance is perhaps 25% slower than my i7 6700. They are working on it, as are other vendors.

Well it was illustrated with all features showing along with a 2000 word report when I posted it many years ago. Almost everything was re-done by hand to the pixel in photoshop.. and nobody has to my knowledge ever posted a redesign of Reasons GUI with new features. In fact, when I started it, Reason 8 hadn't even been released to the public..., only a single screenshot.

... So there... I was sure that I wasn't going to make it flat like Ableton, as tempting as that might be.

It's plugin scanning, mostly.
You can disable it in options.txt
