multichannel have a right potential if some other features come (eg: muting part, loop recording to different channel of the same part, etc....). again a point where we ll have to debate and think about... and wait for Jorgen who always found the only solution

nope - Jorgen himself wrote several times that our ideas keep him inspired...
I've not been writing about multi-channel editing b.t.w.
and last but not least audio-loop-recording to multiple channels of the same part is already possible for months.

currently you have to cut the takes manually, but that's not a problem...
Let's say you set a loop to four bars...
- you start recording and record ten takes
- now you have a part that is 40 bars long - resize it to four bars lenght
- double-click it to open the editor
- add nine new channels (from the file-menu)
- now zoom in so that 'end of part' is in the right corner of the editor-window
- set snap to 4 and alt-click at the 'end of part'-position
- move the new slice to channel 2 by dragging it.
- now cut the slice on channel 2 as well at the 'end of part'-position and move the new slice to channel 3
etc. - you get the picture - done
Now you can mute, solo, pan etc. every channel just as you want...

héhé, so I knew this one. but what would be so great is a way to record to multiple audio channel inside the same audio part when looped. each time loop is repeated, it could create a new channel. then with cut and a way to mute audio (to avoid deleting), you can select what part of each take you wanna have. anyone interested by such a feature??

yeah sure - that's just an automation of the process I drescribed above (which only takes half of a minute or so b.t.w.silicon/silicium wrote:héhé, so I knew this one. but what would be so great is a way to record to multiple audio channel inside the same audio part when looped. each time loop is repeated, it could create a new channel. then with cut and a way to mute audio (to avoid deleting), you can select what part of each take you wanna have. anyone interested by such a feature??

nonetheless: it's already possible (see above)silicon/silicium wrote: what would be so great is a way to record to multiple audio channel inside the same audio part when looped.
all you are asking for is to save a few clicks (which of course isn't a bad thing b.t.w.)

Reading again your last post I got the impression that either I haven't understood what you are asking for or you haven't understood my explanation

I have understood, I just think it's better to automate everything in that case, because when you make some vocal takes, sometimes you need 10 takes on the same loop, so creating audio channel, cut and move can be boring (and multply risks of unaccuracy, or of human mistakes). just avoiding some manual work (btw it will be more logical than having the part recorded outside the loop isn't it (if if you can manually put everything back in the loop as you described)??
+each time a "take is over", that is to say when loop restar, it should automaticaly mute the previous take. creating a new channel and muting the one which is over. I hope I m clear with that bad english

yeah you made your point clear I and absolutely agree (apart from the acurracy-bit) only for me it's not too high on my wish-list because it's not a lot of work after all to do it manually and there are other things which are imo far more urgent - cutting of audio-parts is one of them...

oh yes, I 100% agree, it's not on top on my wishlist, and my top 3 is cutting audio part easily, selecting hidden parts easily (selected should go foreground or something like this once selected, to clic on it or resize it without selecting another part (maybe two or more clic can select others parts on background), and finally, and "snap to" and "snap by".

I completely agree but also slip-editing the beginning of a part is really important for me

just a tiny bump because it is really important to me
(and I guess to others as well)
