Hi - I’ve just put up a sound pack on the front page of my website https://hiddensound.net/

Cold Icelandic wind sounds are captured using a LOM Geofón through a variety of metal objects ranging from an outdoor compost toilet to the engine from a ship wreck.

The sounds are perfect for anyone wishing to create a range of apocalyptic and other worldly wind atmospheres.

82 files - 192k/24 bit - 4 hours 46 mins

cheers :)

Just had a peek around your site and picked up 7 of your packs. Really cool ambient material at very reasonable prices, thanks for sharing this stuff.
A well-behaved signature.

thanks again
I'm using it now, funnily enough alongside a lot of windmachine

That makes a lot of sense, layering a more organic version of a sound on top of a more artificial one is something done all the time these days, but now I'm curious... is the machine real, or also sampled?

It's sampled. it's all performances, essentially 'loops' from note-ons, 17 'articulations' in the patch. VSL. It's in more than one library, for certain it's in Synchron Percussion. In 'Misc Percussion' under Percussion in the VI Pro browser, looks like the full percussion, which I bought a long time ago. I'm pretty enamored of it. Someone really went for the gusto with these performances, they go on for a bit, too. lot of WHOA factor. What a library, I mean it has every single thing you need to cover Varese Ionisation. But the wind is very DOOM.
Thundersheet which someone went even more nuts recording, there they have 4 different ones. Anvils, gunshots, train rails, whip cracking, you-name-it.

these wind through metal files go on for a bit too; this product is 5 different packs, and they're pretty big packs. sounds excellent.
