It's reportedly super CPU heavy, so you'd better demo it if you want to give it a shot.

I typically get so far down a rabbit hole of my own conceptions a little bit of randomization is frequently *the* next move.
Absynth has two not-really potentiometers, Morph and Random, and the change based in attributes or extant patches.

PS, don't waste your time like I did. The file is in an obscure obsolete format (.omb) and g/l finding anything that will open it.

? Not meaning to get pedantic, but those aren't "potentiometers."

( back in the day ) :
Chainer was my go-to for morph/random patches , before devs were
including this function as part of the feature set ...

sorry, I guess that takes a word that isn't used figuratively that often figuratively, literally of course it has to be the physical thing it is, user-adjustable variable resistor etc etc.
maybe for guitarists everything is 'a pot'.
if the goal was 'not pedantic', FAIL

but 'my bad'

..you can, sort of, create random presets in Reaktor by using the morph and random feature (blending between two presets) and you can do the the same thing with FM8 by loading different patches into the xy-pad and then blending between 2-4 presets. If you click on "normalise timbres" the blend will be the new base preset.

Archive.org to the rescue!

I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better? :(

I tried this but after playing one preset, suddenly they all disappear. Tried re-installing etc, no luck. The randomizer works and you can save patches, but losing the origs is a pisser. And tbh, most of the random generated ones IMO aren't usable. But it was worth a shot...

I know you meant this one: https://www.kvraudio.com/product/chainer-by-xlutop

Which is what I used for years, even just as a host and effects chain 'rack'. When it was abandoned, I too switched to Cantabile while it was in early development.
