I inadvertently subscribed to some german magazine that deals in some kind of tech, mostly visual-oriented as far as I can tell without caring enough to click on links. Then there was food-oriented spam the once, I don't know how that happens.
I don't see spam very related to plugins or DAW hardly at all. What I do see that is spam-like isn't, it's something to unsubscribe to, like Sweetwater, or something.

I have to say I'm still on Select. While form a pure what you get form a money perspective upgradeing during sale is a no brainer, I'm not really sure how many of their Synths I would even use. Especially since most interfaces are not resizable. I know people use Massive, Battery (maybe FM8) and their sample instruments (i would be mostly interested in their guitar vsts) but I wonder who uses Synths like Rounds i.e.? I just feel that with these products people would have a tool that is better suited for the specific task. Anyone using any synths that isnt Massive/Monark/FM8? I'm super interested in this. Komplete is the best value proposition but if you have a lot of stuff, do you even use it?

(edit: disclaimer: I understand that people who buy ultimate since they use alot of sample based instruments are probably in a different boat on this one)

For my ears, Komplete synths are unique. I don’t know what’s going on under the hood (okay, it’s Reaktor sound engine), but all of them sound huge and digitally right. Some synths like Prism are hugely esoteric, some of them are legends, like Razor, some just fun and force you to act differently from usual VCO-Filter-Amp path.

I’m not using all of them but I prefer to have them in my toolbox. They sounds cool and truly powerful, after all.

Agree with Dombaeb.

I think Rounds and Kontour are underrated. I have used Kontour in a track once, and just opened to play with it yesterday. It sounds fantastic. I should use it more. Just listen to the audio demos : https://www.native-instruments.com/en/p ... s/kontour/

Ultimate is indeed the way to go if you can. The additional sample libraries and Expansions are well worth it.

While I don't use them all, there will never be a track I make that doesn't have at least one Native Instruments product. I have owned Komplete since almost 10 years and it is that thing I can't live without.

If NI can make all synths GUI scalable (like Massive X) and bring them out of Reaktor (as applicable, like Super 8 R2), add VST3 support (not super important for me), adds more usability features, etc., it will give a new life to these synths which are otherwise absolutely brilliant sound wise and looks wise.

Rounds is great. We, as a band, use it quite a bit.

Time+Space is probably the best option for you. You also get two free libraries.

https://www.timespace.com/products/nati ... 4098116721

You get loyalty points as well as being in UK, you will get delivery within a day.

I don't think there is a significant price difference anyway between NI website and 3rd party resellers.

Not an option unfortunately I have a literal bedroom studio and my PC is too noisy and hot to keep on over night.

Just a quick question I hope someone can answer: I'm currently using more and more NI software. If I buy one of their keyboards for integration, my choices are either to use Machine Software or use the wrapper right? Or is there a way the mappings of the potis on the NI keyboards can be set once and work across devices? Maybe it depends if your DAW handles global mappings?

Anyway, I'm interested to get one as long as I dont have to use the wrapper and I cant quite wrap my head around it.

Using Komplete Kontrol from the keyboards is pretty nice actually. But you could use the midi mode and map the stuff yourself, you can switch between several configs but it's pretty much a dumb midi controller in that mode. Also less resolution in midi mode iirc.

Komplete Kontrol is the wrapper that NI's keyboards use. You can either use them with the Komplete Kontrol plugin, or as generic MIDI controllers, sending MIDI CC's to your DAW and your plugins.

What's pretty cool about the keyboards is that they allow for the mapping of several (up to 4) pages of controls in MIDI CC mode. That way you can map up to 32 parameters of your plugins. Or, in Komplete Kontrol, you can of course map many more than that.

As spacepluk said, Komplete Kontrol is pretty cool. I often use it in my DAW, or when playing VSTi's standalone. I used to use Savihost, but, Komplete Kontrol has an arpeggiator, and, you can build a plugin chain with fx and all that. Really nice.
