June 12, 2021: Voxengo is happy to release Peakbuster, an attack-phase boosting and harmonic enhancement plugin for professional music and sound production applications, available in AAX, AudioUnit, VST, and VST3 plugin formats, for macOS and Windows computers.

Peakbuster is a multi-band transient enhancer effect plug-in that uses an advanced automatic algorithm. Peakbuster stands our from the competition in its ability to always sound natural, even on a full-spectrum master bus. The strength of the effect depends on the material being processed: the algorithm masterfully analyses dynamics of the sound it processes, and applies boosting in quantities that are “exactly right”. Moreover, the algorithm has a suitably “fast” reaction time making its adjustments sound “fluid”, not “over the place”.

The amount of effect can be chosen independently for the lower and higher frequency ranges: this permits use of Peakbuster on a variety of program material, both full mixes and individual tracks.

Additionally, due to the nature of the algorithm’s design, Peakbuster applies a unique harmonic coloration or enhancement: so, even if the gain adjustment meter shows only a minimal transient boosting amount at a given time, the plug-in still transforms the sound being processed in a way that to some engineers may sound “on a completely another level”; we at Voxengo would call it “beyond tube warmness”.

Peakbuster features:

Automatic transient boosting
Selectable processing band count
Stereo processing
Up to 8x oversampling
64-bit floating point processing
Preset manager
Undo/redo history
A/B comparisons
Contextual hint messages
All sample rates support
Zero processing latency

Re: Premium... I'm a little hesitant that he reserves the right to charge for plugins or updates in future - so is it really a one-time, lifetime thing?
Future new product releases may be free of charge or paid depending on our future decisions.
But don't get me wrong.. I LOVE Voxengo and will likely take the leap at some point. It's still excellent value.

It's nice that Voxengo offers options so that we can optimize our spending. I prefer to cherry pick Voxengo products to supplement my tool kit - I don't need them all, just products that offer me something unique and useful in the context of what I already have.

It sounds absolutely pristine, but I'd love to be able to push the effect further. It's just my opinion, but the "wow" effect is not there for me.
Yeah, I know, it's maybe because it's not pushed further that it sounds that clean.
Please don’t read the above post. It’s a stupid one. Simply pass.

Very interesting. I have both the SPL hardware and plug-in, although this sounds like it should be significantly different. I’ll report back in some hours.

Really kicking myself for not getting he Voxengo membership when it was on sale.

Ignore my comment, this is not at all what I thought it was. A comparison to SPL Transient Designer is NOT applicable.

Ok, I've had a play around now. She sounds fantastic on the master bus. It can be quite a subtle effect but it give everything a nice roundness and lots of lovely harmonics.

It's my understanding that since the premium membership has been offered he's never not included a plugin. You can find posts (can't recall if here or if gearspace) where he specifically addresses this and says something to effect that it isn't a significant enough drop in revenue to warrant not including new releases to premium members.

If you're unsure, then wait until the end of year sales where premium is heavily discounted (at least has been in the past) as well to the point where it's just a crazy value overall.

it is already a crazy value overall. AN far far as I understood: even if you will be charged for future new plugin (which is unlikely), you will get free lifetime updates for the existing ones.
