WatchTheGuitar wrote: Thu Jun 03, 2021 1:10 am Just got an email from Polyverse and they've updated Gatekeeper; as well as the boring inevitable Mac updates they've added a long desired thing - it can now send MIDI CC output from the plugin allowing it to use the looped patterns to define expression against whatever parameters you want to automate in your DAW etc.
Yes, I got it too.
Hey Polyverse Family,

We’re proud to announce that all of our plugins now have updates available for download online. As a note, this is not a newsletter email. If you're receiving this, you currently own one or more Polyverse plugins.

What’s new?:

Compatibility with MacOS 11 Big Sur and M1 ARM-based chips.
Gatekeeper can now send MIDI CC data, giving it the ability to control parameters in other plugins.
I Wish now has a demo version
I Wish has been also updated with a more robust protection scheme and can now be authenticated in DAWs with a license key file.
VST3 versions of all plugins.
Various stability fixes and future-proofing.

If you currently own I Wish, you should have already received an email containing your new download link and license key.

A note for MacOS users: Please make sure that your host DAW applications are also compatible with MacOS 11 Big Sur before updating.

Didn't see it mentioned:
Bitwig 4, now in Beta, has a lot of "Operators" for Midi notes, that allow Chance per Note, Repetition, Note Actions and a kind of Mini-Timeline per Note. Supercool and will replace probably several of my Midi plugins. Chance also works on sliced Audio events
There is also Random Spread on all the MPE expressions now and other cools stuff.
With the new "Expand" command, you can then print out the randomness to static notes, with or without keeping chance intact.

More videos, the one from Polarity being 8 hours long, going from not knowing anything about the new stuff to awesome in a day...

Just updated my license - fun!

Cheers,

Tom

I wonder if there will be a Midi Madness 4
Mostly asking out of curiosity.
My feeling is that it will be released sometime between now and the end of the year.
I am still waiting for a super MM sale to take action on behalf of my GAS.

waiting for the next big sale - Black Friday? - to do the update, but does look interesting and I thought the same about v4 replacing some other midi bits and pieces

I think they have done Summer sale last few years around this time. Don't know if the 4 release will affect it or not. I'm waiting for a Bitwig sale also to upgrade my 8 track to full version.

I impulse bought Pathways (Max4Live) by Dillon Bastan ($10) and have found it to be superb. Very impressed. Gives you tools to draw playback paths on audio sample. I think you can have up to 12 playheads. There's a good instructional video.

I also am impressed. I have had Iota for some time and have wanted some other functionality with it. This has some of those functions I had hoped for. Emit, which came with Live 11 Suite upgrade, is also similar but with some unique functionality.

But for $10, Pathways has impressive depth of controls/parameters.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

Regarding Sundog studio and Chordpotion: seems to me like there is heavy feature overlap? Anything I'm missing?

Post

Bonus question :D. Is there any tool that gives me just a chord to key mapper that displays as many chords as possible in a scale? Basically I'm looking for something that only does this part of sundog studio:

Are you on Windows? If so, I think XotoPad from Feel Your Sound might do the trick.

Animation Station by Sample Logic just launched.
