I would like to have all the Roli axes implemented as MPE, strike (velocity), slide (timbre as CC#74), glide (pitch bend), press (channel pressure sent per note) and release velocity (I actually have been using this a little and I find it useful.)FathomSynth wrote: Wed Mar 31, 2021 10:00 pm What parts of mpe do you need?
Would it not be mostly just after pressure?

and also sensel morph and linnstrument can all do this (and joué, etc...). MPE is mostly defined as X Y Z, pitchbend per key, slide by key, pressure by key (killmaster says it in the better terms). but of course also velocity ánd release velocity (release velocity is a great thing for sounddesign. underrated, and also some 'normal' keyboard send this value..).killmaster wrote: Wed Mar 31, 2021 10:54 pmI would like to have all the Roli axes implemented as MPE, strike (velocity), slide (timbre as CC#74), glide (pitch bend), press (channel pressure sent per note) and release velocity (I actually have been using this a little and I find it useful.)FathomSynth wrote: Wed Mar 31, 2021 10:00 pm What parts of mpe do you need?

simple page:
https://support.roli.com/support/soluti ... at-is-mpe-
also info can be found at the midi org page for MPE
https://www.midi.org/midi-articles/midi ... ession-mpe
if you use JUCE, it is easy, it seems. it is 'build in'. not strange..
MPE is not always implemented in the 'correct' way; 1 global channel, 15 channels for the per note values (the 5 expression values..).

Obviously you never had an expressive controller under your hands. Playing a real vibrato for example, controlling the filter of each voice independently with ten fingers. Doing the Vangelis is only one fifth of it... Just playing blue notes naturally while holding a chord with the left hand...FathomSynth wrote: Wed Mar 31, 2021 10:00 pm What parts of mpe do you need?

Literally every chord you play comes to life as you apply small variations on each note...

so true. even if my playing style different, i can get out of synth, a complex and rich, dynamic sound, with a bandwidth.. one synth, one preset/patch can sound like an orchestra, for example (generate.. i can make with one preset, patch from scratch, make a complete soundtrack.. was made for fun.. to see what you can do... also playing style is important, 2 lightpad M blocks play differently than a seabord block).Tj Shredder wrote: Fri Apr 02, 2021 8:07 amObviously you never had an expressive controller under your hands. it will make a synth, 5 times bigger? in possibilities? overstatement, perhaps, but still...

Here's a pairing of sounds from the Purple Mist and Trance Warehouse banks, from which many fun combinations are available. Even 'west coast fun', in my case. Just fathom sound, no extra effects. Fathom inspires the purchase of diskspace, among other things

That's pretty cool. It really shows how clean an pure Fathom can be.
We jumped the fence because it was a fence not be cause the grass was greener.

The synth and sound designers have created a very special place to explore. There's always something new to discover. Like having loaded dice at a Casino, lots of winning at the table

That's cool to read and hear glowkraw. Indeed, you can keep it simple or go really down the rabbit hole with this one
Do you perhaps have any full tracks with Fathom in it to share?

It is been a long time since anything "happened" with Fathom. The forum on their web site is closed. Has development stopped?

Good question. I am not certain myself. I had some brief contact with the Developer several months ago but haven't seen much activity since.

i thought he put his mind to using the GPU for audio?
but indeed very quite. but still the Fathom Vector is a playground, but MPE would be nice...
which was the last conversation here, the developer asked something about it...
april 1....
the forum is closed for a long time i believe, this is thread the developer responses?

We believe the project is still alive and kicking, but the developer is working on things like GPU processing, even better audio quality and other features...
He will probably chime in soon...

I don't think that forum has ever been working since I got into Fathom about 3 years ago. It's normal for Everett to disappear into "developer mode" for a while...Rumdrum wrote: Tue Jun 15, 2021 12:25 pm It is been a long time since anything "happened" with Fathom.
