Here we go:
https://soundcloud.com/taptapdoubletap/ ... double-tap
Kuma x42 - all effects are Ableton except Valhalla Supermassive in a couple of areas (although I'm finding that the Hybrid Reverb is a lot more flexible): EQ8, Utility, Gate, Saturation, Erosion, Dynamic Tube, Overdrive, Limiter, Compressor, Multiband Dynamics, Glue Compressor, LFO, Autofilter, Delay, Filter Delay, Beat Repeat, Shaper, and midi effects Arpeggiator, Chord and Note Length.
Kick is a rack with three layered Kumas, snare has four layers and there are six basses.

Probably my final submission, going to countryside with unstable internet, would love to work more on this tune though. One thing that is definitely missing here is a smoother transition between first and second halves.

22 instances of Kuma 508 synth(14 of which are inside drum machine) in Bitwig
Bitwig effects:
drum machine
instrument selector
note pitch shifter
eq2, eq5
compressor
dynamics
tool
delay-2
reverb
fx grid(simple custom haas delay)
mid-side split
multiband fx-2
3rd party:
OTT
GClip
OrilRiver
TDR Nova
TDR Kotelnikov
Ozone Imager
LoudMax
Couple of bitwig tricks I used:
Used instrument selector with note counter modulator to trigger 3 instances of the same kick patch in round-robin fashion. This is to get more stable kick in kick rolls, I'm pretty sure it's not against the rules because I remember people using midi splitter on previous months, this is the same thing.
Used velocity modulator + tool on hihats synth to mimic velocity control which this synth doesn't have for some reason. It has the same result as if I drew volume automation for each note individually, so I think it's ok to use it, but if it's not I'm ready to redo this part.
Also this synth has lfos on everything except the only parameter I need - the pitch, so I drew pitch automation on all synths I considered using lfo modulator in bitwig, but decided that it's definitely a cheat because I wouldn't be able to drew perfect sinewaves in the automation lane in bitwig(I drew trianglewaves)

I would have said it is allowed to use external controls (like bitwig lfos) to automate midi parameters. There are so many creative options these days I wouldn't see it as cheating but actually getting creative to overcome a synths limitations.

So here is my submission,
It´s the first time programming a FM-Synth for me, so a huge learning experience from this OSC...And from the DX-7 'Operating-Manual' XD - No Presets used as usual - everything made from scratch.
I used 32 instances in FL Studio 20.5.1 and the theme of this submission is... ehm... I´m afraid that i don´t have an explanation for the theme of this - it just somehow happened XD
https://soundcloud.com/impedancemusic/i ... 8-kuma-508
Some technical stuff:
DAW Plugins:
Fruity Parametric EQ2, Fruity Stereo Enhancer, Fruity Limiter, Fruity Reeverb2, Fruity Delay 2 and 3, Maximus for "Mastering" if you can call the things i do mastering
3rd Party Effects:
Analog Obsession Sweet Drums, Analog Obsession Love End, Auburn Sounds Couture, Lazy Kenneth (Volume Mode), TAL Filter-2 (Volume for Sidechaining), Xfer OTT

First time entering, only saw this at the weekend and didn't have much time to really get going. Had fun learning how to make sounds out of it, never really gone beyond tweaking presets before!
Will hopefully get some more time to make some changes before Wednesday but if i don't I've submitted this as it is so far.
made with Reaper with a little help from
19 kuma 508s
TDR Nova
MEqualizer
ReaComp
Reaverbate
ReaXComp
Midi Transpose
ReaGate
Valhalla Supermassive

Alright, squeezed in some time to do a track with this quirky synth. Limitation sometimes has interesting side effects... I might go at it one more time, but just so I have one posted...
https://soundcloud.com/taronium/kumbaja
instances: 22
DAW: MuLab (www.mutools.com)
FX: EQs, Delays, Compressor, Mid-Side Processor
3rd Party FX: Valhalla Supermassive, OTT, LoudMax, Dimension Expandor, Wider
Whenever we run some FM synth, I remember how I thought I would hate those, but I'm always having a blast with them at the end. Challenging... some more some less. This one certainly more, though.

Pfff, I almost made another song, but then Kuma's polyphony garbage just took the wind right out of me again. Looking forward to a fully functional synth again!

My entry: https://soundcloud.com/jruegg/jruegg-road-508
I don't think I nailed the Synthwave/Retrowave genre, but I tried .
It's the first time I used send & return tracks, I tried a different approach to mixing now, after some conversations with
OntrackP & other folks in the slack channel.
39 instances of Kuma in Ableton Live 10
Ableton Fxs:
- Glue compressor.
- Delay
- Reverb
- Multiband Compressor
- Utility
- Eq three
- Eq8
- Envelope follower
- Limiter
Third party effects:
- Polyverse Wider
- Signalizer
- STFU
- AllPassPhase
