Ah, didn’t realize that. Had only briefly read the announcement email and watched a little of the video. On an airplane right now heading back home from some vacation time. Couldn’t demo it if I wanted to ATM, but will check it out hopefully this weekend.beely wrote: Fri Jun 25, 2021 9:05 pm Why? Just download and install the demo, it's available since earlier today...
You can't *buy* it until August, but you can demo it now.

I like the Brainworx channel strips and, contra the usual suspects who show up in literally every PA thread to tell us how much they hate PA, this looks really good to me. I like the options to hear just the parts of the sound that the gate, compressor, and limiter are changing, as well as the option to solo the EQ section that you're currently working on. Those are nice features. I also appreciate the BX channel strip GUIs (I use 9000J a lot because it's very straightforward to use) and this continues that aesthetic. I'm into it.

Not really. SSL J was released on april 2020, and the price was high (min $99) until the release of the AMEK 9099.
I think that the AMEK 9099 will drop to the $29-$69 range only when it's 'replaced' by a new channel strip.

Dirk can't afford king oz. The same league of 'marketing' but not the same league of coding.

Bit weird considering that their Focusrite console GUI has shadows that are done tastefully.Ploki wrote: Fri Jun 25, 2021 10:24 am Beauty? it looks like some kid ate crayons and puked on the screen.
Shadows obscure details.

Brainworx is also trying to give the look of the console strip, so that's the same color palette and overall layout of the Amek/Neve console. Obvious differences with the metering and what not, but colored knobs and various shades are correct, so there's no 'design' in that regard. Can certainly debate whether or not that's needed in a plugin, but pretty much the norm for emulations. The shadows are a bit overdone, I can agree to that.

Well, I guess they were just going for the sheer complexity and busyness of the real thing, so they delivered in spades. I've been able to sit in front of a few consoles and this 9098i was a lot to get your head around.
I'll check out how it sounds, but won't be purchasing... at least not until it's massively dropped in price and maybe not even then. I don't need it (at all) really for what I do, so it's more just a curiosity thing right now. Love or hate PA, I still like seeing and checking out all, well, most of the releases.
