If Bitwig had all those features ready, they would release them, not hold them. Duh...
So...coincidence they released exactly the same new features as Live just a few months after Live.....
They said network sharing was integrated since the beginning....so where is it eh...!
(X Files theme music is playing...)

Come on, everyone likes a good conspiracy theory

Not very good at this business thing are you ?

For all you know they could have retired to Florida and just press a button every few months to release the next update. They already have version ten complete and ready to roll , and the money keeps on rolling in for the next ten years

Yeah, I found it weird 2 headline features we got in v4 are similar to what Ableton released with v11, i.e. comping and piano-roll probability. One could argue they're extended compared to Live counterparts (i.e. it's not just velocity & chance, but all expressions + the operators; comping lacks MIDI but it has this nice folding thing, it works in Clip Launcher, it is clearly visible at the glance which clip has it). But still, it's a heck of coincidence.

And they can now both import .ALS files

You are into something here.....
Maybe they still have a daytime job at Ableton :ud:

It's actually Ableton that owns it like nuendo and Cuebase.

Someone actually suggested in the past that Bitwig was really founded and is run by Ableton, to prevent other companies from cloning Live, since there would be one DAW already doing it.

If that's true, they should start thinking of starting another company cloning Bitwig and making it better ;) :D

More than 30 years ago an Italian jeans designer went to China and made his own knock off of the jeans and at the end he was making more money with those from China.
You never know....

I don't think that there is a conspiracy here. The only thing that they've done like Ableton is that they've gone back to bundle absolutly everything into a single big major version upgrade instead of releasing the features over time as they promised when they tried to justify the philosophy behind the update plan model back in the day.

I wouldn't call 4 a particularly big release, 3.3 was bigger for me!

Go look at the changelog for V4 and compare that to V3.3 and 3.2. They are all approximately the same in terms of number of new features.

My pockets is itching little bit for a new SSD drive and a Linux installation with Bitwig and u-he synths! There is one empty slot for M.2 in my motherboard (it has two slots), so it is calling me "Fill me! Fill me!". I think Ubuntu Studio would be my choice with Bitwig 4 :D
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.
