I've wanted to build one of the LOM mini kits, but they were always "sold out" and then I'd forget. There are numerous DIY alternatives that are really cheap as well, and would be interesting, but this is definitely a step up on all the options/alternatives I've seen over the years.

Neat, that would be cool with some 3D visualization. Of course for EM, it would be pretty much a solid block most of the time you would think.

Parameter locking is powerful shit.

Yeah, Medusa has something similar. The possibilities are brain-melting.

It does the best 808 low bass drum you ever heard. It does the most snappy of high hats. It does the most sweet of FM synths that you never heard.

Good, I love an 808 kick.

The battery power pack is hard to get hold of, I guess they will be back in stock in a bit.

I bought a USB-to-barrel power connector for mine, to use with a power bank. That'll be good enough for starters at least.

This is a bright, boomy machine, and full of dreamy pad and bell like sounds. For the money nothing can touch it.

Not had much of a chance to test the Ether yet, but Im really glad I got one, the control over discrimination is great on this thing. I can sit in this office with three computers, two RAID arrays and a freezer, and get 'everything', or just my phone, as long as its closer than 3".

Model:Cycles arrived yesterday (sooner than I expected). The mail carrier left the box on the porch but failed to push it back one more foot or so to get it under the eaves, so it got rained on for hours. The outer box was soaked and falling apart, thankfully the inner box was only just slightly damp and the machine itself was fine.

It's lots of fun. My plan is to not hook it up to my audio interface for a while, to intentionally just use it to have a good time.

I agree about the pads and feel like it needs some velocity sensitivity adjustment. I don't want to hammer the thing, I just want to chill. But assigning velocity to other parameters still does work pretty well anyway.

For a drum machine/groovebox it sure does do ambient well, even with only one LFO per track and no attack time without assigning the LFO to volume
