This could be a candidate for the next OSC:

I spent a few hours today, but I couldn't install Surge 1.9 or Surge XT on Windows 7 64bit.
I hope that soon Surge will be chosen as the synthesizer of the month again and someone will find a solution to this problem!
And maybe even compile the VST2 version, because there are such masters here!

I'm all for that one, though already having a FM synth in the current OSC, it may not be a very likely candidate for the next round. It's a really nice sounding instrument, though. I like it. One can never have too many FM synths, can one ?IV! wrote: Fri Jun 25, 2021 12:59 pm A good candidate!) Its only disadvantage is that it can be heavy for the processor. But it sounds great!
You got me curious, since I'd not yet installed Surge 1.9. Just did, and it works fine for me on Win 7 64.IV! wrote: Sat Jun 26, 2021 11:20 am I spent a few hours today, but I couldn't install Surge 1.9 or Surge XT on Windows 7 64bit....

Runs fine in most hosts too, I think, since the 1.4 update. I'm not seeing any excessive CPU load, btw.

Yes, FM does not happen much, I absolutely agree!
Moreover, Exact is more friendly than Kuma (in my opinion)
As for the CPU - it's just my old laptop. I can't even safely play with one instance of Odin II
Thank you for your review of Surge! At least now I know that the problem needs to be looked for elsewhere...

Exact-lite is rather more friendly than Kuma 508, I agree. It sounds much more...well...exact. Has much more useful algorithms too. Definite
for Exact.
Seems we'll soon be going the way of dinosaurs with Windows 7, btw. I just now learned of the arrival of Windows 11, which I don't think my hardware even supports anymore. Can't even check as I'm not on 10. <rolling eyes dinosaur smiley face here>

In general, I agree about Windows, I understand that more and more programs will appear, including plugins that do not support 7-th. But I have an old laptop and an " old " Windows, and I don't see the point in changing them separately

I don’t thinks there’s been a TAL for a while?

Also, the GUI update to noisemaker makes it look so much better.

Wow, thanks anyway for showing this! I love this synthesizer, but I'm not a fan of their hidden tabs. This one-page design looks fantastic!Eauson wrote: Mon Jun 28, 2021 8:37 pm I don’t thinks there’s been a TAL for a while?

Few developers update old free plugins, huge respect to TAL for this!

I'll second that ! Wasn't familiar with Noisemaker ; glad I am now. It is absolutely top notch ! An OSC with that one I'd very much consider to be an OSC DeluxeIV! wrote: Tue Jun 29, 2021 12:28 pm Wow, thanks anyway for showing this! I love this synthesizer...
