The levels *should* be consistent once you’ve got an an IR loaded. But while you’re in IR mode with nothing loaded it is too loud. I will correct this soon hopefully.
I was talking about using the cab sim.
While switching from my 3rd party cabs:

- disable third party cab (sounds like crap now)
- click the "C" button to use Swanky cab
- volume is a lot lower now - much lower than with no cab or IR

I played some more today - I can dial in a decent sound with the cabs.
There is a subtle difference between open and closed back - and I like a open back 2x12 with this amp ;)

BTW - what is a "red" speaker? (is it a Celestion Ruby?)

I still like my 3rd party cabs - but that's because I'm used to them now ;)

I'm looking into this a bit, if there are no major hurdles I'm not opposed. But I don't want to promise anything. Out of curiosity, what kind of hardware do you want to run it on?

Thanks,
Garrin
Thank you, hope you'll can

I'm hardwared 64 bit but still use 32 bit softwares
1 because i'm lazy
2 because i have no time to change
3 clients/customers seems have no time (to wait me) too

By the way, i did proof in other studios with 64 software and the only differences we recognize is that 64 softs/VSTs on 64 machines are more loud, 32 bit= same quality

Free to don't believe but usually we point on (good) converters

Post

have you tried jbridge?
It was originally meant to run 32 bit plugins on 64 bit hosts - but I think it can also run 64 bit plugins on 32 bit hosts.

Well
I've tried
Sometimes works, sometimes no
Often give me "recall" problems (if you're involved in studio productions i think you can understand)...

Oh well, sorry - I just thought I'd mention it ;)

The "red" speaker is based on the 150 watt red back.

I know what you mean about 3rd party IRs. Each is at least a little unique as it captures a unique speaker / mic / signal path (each being slightly different), and a unique room setup (acoustic treatment can certainly reduce echos but just having stuff lying around near the mic can create subtle resonances and affect the frequency response). It's definitely easy to end up having a favorite one. Or a favorite few xD.

I got a minor patch out, 0.6.1. It evens out the audio level a bit when switching IRs and turning off the cab. There's still a few dB boost but it's much smaller now and hopefully won't be so jarring.

I reworked that situation a bit, hopefully this is just a few dB change now (it's not really possible to get it 100% right under all circumstances). Please let me know if you are still getting a very large change in levels.

Glad to see life is coming back post covid ;). Of course it's "whenever" or "if ever" you get around to it. Thanks for all the feedback!

More at https://resonantdsp.com/swankyamppro/index.html as usual.

Thanks for all the great feedback. Development won't end here, I'll keep working on issues and I have a few more features planed but more on that later.

Thanks,
Garrin

Found a small bug I think - clicking the cab toggle button("C") while custom IR is active causes the Shape buttons to become enabled when they should be disabled.

That's a lot better now. The sound with speakers is actually a little *lower* than without - so that's better. You don't get a (volume jump) surprise when you enable the cab ;)
The "red" speaker is based on the 150 watt red back.

I'd never heard of these before - cool!

Anyway - best of luck with the product launch, and please keep us informed here, as to what's going on (and also if you start a new thread)

There is a little action on the Facebook group formerly known as HASR (honest amp sim reviews) (now known as "The Amp Sim user group") so I'll keep an eye on that after Friday ;)
They seem to like the free version though - so hopefully they'll like this one too ;)
