pop_OS! is better :)

Really? I chose Ubuntu Studio because it is listed in the requirements and also the kernel is optimised for music/media production. I had it before and it works great ;) Anyway, all are Linux, but thanks I will check Pop OS also :)
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

It's all the same at the end of the day. pop_OS! is Ubuntu based it just has a nicer/cleaner setup than vanilla Ubuntu which is funny to say because I remember when Ubuntu was a nicer/cleaner/easier to use Debian.
Studio One // Bitwig // Logic Pro // Ableton // Reason // FLStudio // MPC // Force // Maschine

Yes, most of the distros are based either on Debian or Arch these days (or these years!). I'll check Pop_OS! and several others before installing, although i lean to Ubuntu Studio because it is ugly so I would concentrate on music making :hihi:

Check out Linux Mint Cinnamon, that's my favorite for years.

Did they finally addressed the uncompensated (via PDC) 4samples delay in EQ+? Would be nice to have this one actually usable (although I use Pro-Q as my default eq)

Great! Thanks!
I have tested Ubuntu Studio. Fantastic! Works fine overall. It recognise all the audio interfaces (iTwo and MODX). But the HDMI sound is delayed, so I think I need to install nVidia driver so I can use it. Not necessary of course because I just want the iTwo especially to work fine and it works great! I haven't tested the midi keyboards but that is done when I install Bitwig.

Next I will test Pop_OS then Mint Cinamon, after that I decide which one after the 5 pm tea. I already brought 500GB Samsung M.2, so I need to install it as well.

I tested Pop_OS. It is a wonderful distro and it is really the best one I tested. I also tried to boot into Mint but there was an error preventing me from that, I also failed with AVLinux, so I left trying with them. Ubuntu is fine. It runs like Pop_OS and I like both. They are nice looking and motivate me to install several software and games. However, I went with Ubuntu Studio in the end because of these reasons:
1. Its kernel is optimised for a low latency.
2. It is snappier and more responsive due to the desktop manager (Xfce).
3. It has several interesting software like Hydrogen. However, I don't need it, but it is a nice drums machine.
4. It is ugly :hihi: Really! it is an advantage because I don't like to explore it or look at it! Everything is just practical but not elegant! This makes me concentrate on only Bitwig and the internet.

So, I have installed Bitwig and it works great :) I also installed u-he synths (all except Hive I don't have) and they are working great :D I really hope this limitation makes me explore all Bitwig inside out and u-he synths as well :)

I got error with Unetbootin too, that's why is best to use Rufus to create USB drive.

I kinda dislike Xfce and the likes, Cinnamon is just the perfect DE, like macOS and Windows had a child and it inherited just the best from both IMO. :) and also it looks like it was made for Bitwig with default dark theme, you can even go orange with folders and there's even theme that have orange details in start menu, dunno, maybe it's foolish, but it got that unified OSX experience that Logic 9 and Ableton Live had back in the non flat grey times of Leopard till Mavericks.

That did it for me, I tried to make music on Linux only with U he synths and bam had track pretty much laid out so quickly, just went with Zebra and Diva, one sample pack and that's it, without overthinking much, I'm polishing that track right now on Windows and it's insane that all the placeholder sounds are actually the final ones, did add few here and there after getting into the story and the vibe of the track, but it's more in breakdowns to enhance the feeling, also track sounded pretty great from the get go, I played that first draft in the car and was pretty happy hearing my track next to reference ones, now gonna spend few days polishing, mixing and getting into automation rabbit hole.

Happy music making! :phones:

Thank you 😊

Bitwig is wonderful in Linux compared to every DAW else because it's working exactly like in Windows and Mac versions if not better! All my hardware is recognized and working without me installing anything. I also want to use my MODX as external instrument because there is no place for it in Windows with tons of synths! So, I'll give it some breath, so time to remove that dust from it and from my mind and get rocking :band2:

Sounds like an awesome plan, enjoy! :harp:

I might grab Hive 2 from the 2nd hand market as well to round my synths from u-he complete set :clown:

I'm trying to make it like a plan :hihi: I'm not consistent person (this is my biggest problem!). I change a lot in my hobbies! Thanks heaven that I'm steady at work!

Well, I'm sure if I give you a computer with just few things installed and tell you: "That's it! Nothing more". I'm sure you will get it inside out, upside down! So, it is kind of going back in time and trying to invoke the past motives. An ugly desktop with interface like Windows 98 helps a lot :hihi: The only nice things are Bitwig and u-he synths  So, it is like back in the 90's with such super technology. This feeling makes me Wow! I can't believe it!

Ok, enough! Let's back to work!
