Noisy, harsh, odd, wrong, and yukky. But I gots to keep the streak alive.

9 instances in Live 11 with Live effects and OTT. No Valhalla Massive. :(

Post

i feel the same, not my favorite synth by far, but the streak must go on. been doing these for half a year now. let's see if i can last a full year, then i'll consider being more selective. or not. :)

I think I may have technically missed the wire here, but here it is anyway:

Reaper
1 instance of Kuma 508
Effects:
ReaEQ
ReaVerb
ReaComp

As others have noted, a somewhat temperamental beast. But then again, I kinda like that sort of thing :)

Once upon a time the Prime of Kuma cruelly divided his subjects ; exalting the Pure, while binding the Diminished in darkness. Now the chains are broken, and those once bound are back to take their revenge.

My submission for the One Synth Challenge at kvraudio.com

Made in REAPER using Kuma 508 ( 34x ; as always, all patches from scratch, ) complemented by Valhalla Supermassive ( as reverb ) Oril River, TAL Dub II, Keylay , A1 Stereo Control , TDR Nova ( lighty dynamic ; light ducking on reverb buses ), ReaEQ ( lightly ) , ReaGate ( just the one, shaping delay input ) as well as a few minor stereo processing utilities.

Hey all, my entry is ready!
Always fun doing a bit of FM. I had to pay extra attention not to make my sounds too out-of-tune, what with those funny knobs!

Heyyo! I don't think people pay extremely close attention to the plugs being used, but @J.Ruegg has been super kind to help me test out this new free plug. I've also submitted it to KVRDC21 if you want to check it out (there are plenty of cool plugs, it looks like, including two from Bjorn). For a lot of things, but especially for OSC, I think it's going to be really useful - it makes the classic sidechaining super easy but also has sample accurate MIDI trigger so you can supplement a synth's volume envelope! Anyway, I'd love it if you check it out and if you find it useful to vote! Cheers!

Wheee.... I have voted! This was pleasant. Many of you have taken me to strange but wonderful places. Loads of curious trips and good entertainment. Well, I'm sure Kuma deserves some major overhauls, especially polyphony. I mean, I know from my own experience of coding it, it's not as obvious as one might think, but still... ...once you figured it out, it's no problem.

Anyway, good stuff! Good luck all! ;)

Voted - the pain of working with synths you don't like much is balanced by the concomitant reduction in tracks you need to vote for.

I voted, and also tried to give some comments, where I felt I could add something...
