I'd be surprised if they didn't use the same code because why reinvent the wheel when the EQ is one part of the channel strip and that part was already modeled.pixel85 wrote: Wed Jun 30, 2021 4:08 pm It supposed to be totally different EQ than the one in 9099. Apparently, they wrote new EQ for the Channel Strip. But I wouldn't be surprised if it's 1:1 the same thing![]()
Have you ever seen developer saying "yeah we just reused code from this old plugin in this new one which is a game changer gods revelation you never saw before"?No. Instead you hear and see them saying how many years they spend, how many people died in sacrifice to create this new wonderful, never seen before piece of art that will revolutionise the world
PA is known to act like they're always delivering something new and revolutionary while in reality it's nothing new, often proven in tests. And when you can prove that, then you're a hater
Like with the description about TMT which sounds like they emulated AMEK console while, if I remember correctly, TMT doesn't emulate any particular console at all.
Then we have marketing, and reality. You're worried about the marketing. The reality is a developer, an actual coder, is going to reuse stuff. There is no reason not to reuse the code. The EQ is already emulating part of the channel strip.
TMT is just variations in a given channel and clearly has been around a lot longer than the AMEK channel strip. "TMT" the name is marketing. TMT the code makes sure there are variations between the different strips of the virtual console to emulate variations in the strips in a real console. This is not new news.
And honestly if it bothers you that much don't buy their stuff.

It's always funny when someone gets on a site like this, says a bunch of nonsense, and then gets offended when someone calls them on it. "But I didn't ask for your <whatever>!" Thats the beauty of a public forum, I don't have to get your permission to call you out on it. I mean you came on here making accusations without proof, admit as much, then get mad when I call you on it?pixel85 wrote: Thu Jul 01, 2021 4:52 pm

I'm not defending PA, they don't need my defense. They seem to be doing just fine without it. Its endless whining about this company here and on Gearspace. The horse is dead. They're trying to sell product. If you don't like how they do business don't give them money. I mean if it somehow makes you feel better about yourself to come here and complain about it then by all means do so but don't get offended when someone disagrees with you directly.

maybe, just maybe it makes someone think and doubt and stop buying their shit.jasonekratz wrote: Thu Jul 01, 2021 7:30 pm The horse is dead. They're trying to sell product. I remember when i was first disillusioned by their nonsense, a couple of escalona's posts were really helpful.
Also it's a public forum. I can beat a dead horse.

PA is just the “brand” and I think a lot of you who are always negative forget that. Real people like you and me develop this software not the “brand” you claim to hate.
Brainworx, Lindell Audio, Elysia, Unfiltered Audio and many others all create high quality effects plugins at the top of the industry. But somehow you want everyone to hate all the above developers because you have some imagined personal vendetta against people you don’t even truly know at “PA”?
We humans are very good at building up villains and stories in our heads that are actually not based in reality. Just my 2 cents
P.S I for one am excited to try this plugin as I love the bx_console line.

Brainworx is PA... Lindell is just a brand developed by Brainworx/PA, so is Elysia.
There's a few more (to help you): Dmitry Sches, DearVR, Deskew.
so all of the above is pretty much Brainworx and Unfiltered Audio.SoftSynthLover99 wrote: Sat Jul 03, 2021 1:02 pm But somehow you want everyone to hate all the above developers because you have some imagined personal vendetta against people you don’t even truly know at “PA”?

I quite don't understand . DearVR is made by Dear Reality, which is now part of the Sennheiser group.Ploki wrote: Sat Jul 03, 2021 1:10 pm Brainworx is PA... Elysia makes hardware stuff first, and is not PA.
Ok they are German companies, but all German companies are not PA.

Is that guy from Sonic Academy?4damind wrote: Wed Jun 30, 2021 11:31 pm Btw. I remember the statement of Nat Raubenheimer (Protoculture) who also regularly tests the PA plugins on YouTube... but finds most of the PA plugins rather mediocre and is not a big friend of PA at all
To be honest, I can't say I trust that guys. I haven't seen anything worthy from his videos to make me trust him. But I do trust Michael White and he does reviews (Plugin of the week) of certain plugins. What I like about his videos is that he goes in depth (usually 20-30min videos) testing it and showing what it can do. For AMEK 9099 there isn't a video, but most likely he's testing it.
Interface wise, I would love Brainworx to add a skin option and to let you create/add your own.

Source regarding Elysia? They have a group of guys who work on the plugins as well. I remember seeing a video of it for Alpha Compressor way back. I wouldn’t be surprised if brainworx helped them but Elysia has people developing things in house as well. It’s not uncommon for teams to have people from multiple companies working on a single product. It’s not just “1 guy at brainworx making all plugins”.

The Lindell Audio stuff is under the umbrella of Brainworx as a brand and licenses some of their IP such as 'TMT', but they're modelled and programmed by Emmanuel Dubecq of LSR Audio. You can find the credits in all of the manuals. It's not the same in-house devs as Brainworx.

ay, my bad re: lindell.
https://www.brainworx.audio/products.html
Can't complain about them either, i think they're fine plugins. (The elysia's. Phil's Cascade is one of my fav plugs, and if i didn't have so much disdain for PA i'd still have it)
