Tracktion crashing, what to do to get it back without reboot

PSOFT's VOID seems to be crashing Tracktion occasionally. When it does, I can't load it back up. I tried ending the Tracktion.exe process in task manager but it doesn't end. Is there anything I can do? Is there some sort of program that will kill a process no matter what and remove it from memory? I'd like to be able to not have to reboot every time Tracktion crashes. VOID seems to freeze in Tracktion sometimes too.

if you are using 2k/xp then check the threads list as well as the tasks and kill and tracktion threads that are still running.

that's what i said i was doing. i said the tracktion.exe process wouldn't end. i never bother ending tasks as ending the process ends the task too. so i guess i do know about threads. i just didn't know what they were called.

if you can't end the process you indeed have to reboot...squint wrote:that's what i said i was doing. i said the tracktion.exe process wouldn't end. i never bother ending tasks as ending the process ends the task too. so i guess i do know about threads. i just didn't know what they were called.

you should never kill processes unless killing the task fails.
*always* kill the task, and only then if necessary kill orphaned threads.

I've never had this problem, but i'd be very very surprised if you can't kill the process using pskill from sysinternals;
