Let's take an LFO, let it modulate the speed of a second LFO with a decaying waveform, and let that second LFO modulate a formant filter

Well it could have been worse, it could have been called "Synthesizer". This would make sense considering their equalizer is called "Equalizer", their reverb is called "Reverb" and their compressor is called "Compressor" :)
Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care
