Now that's what I'm talking about;)
When the data is corrupt in the Desert of the Real, Beyond the Last Thought, where intuition reigns, is the solace that will embolden and strengthen the soul, giving hope once more to this age of failing technique. eassae.com

the black bowl was from my granddaughter (well, her mum and dad, shes one) and the blue from my gf, both for my birthday, although the one from my missus was 4 months late with the whole lockdown/vaccine issues

I was listening in the background as I was working. I really liked the first half as it was enlivening my workspace in a subtle way. But then at the 15 minute mark, the soup sounded like it was about to boil over
as the audio got more and more chaotic so I had to turn it down so I could focus on work. Pretty cool in any case.

Very effective!
I only intended to listen to a little sample and then suddenly realized I was 12 minutes in already so just 'went with it'!
Just me thinking out loud...is there any way to start one of these soundscapes all 'narrow / flat / confined' and let it slowly 'grow / widen / deepen'?
Does that even make sense?

Really nice. very evocative of 50s/60s, very timeless in that sense; if someone had said this had been meticulously done on hand-edited tape at GRMC or Radiophonic Workshop I'd probably have believed it.

Cool stuff!
Hmmm, this is something of interest to me. Wasn't there a thread about this a bit ago? Or a track titled that, or something?
I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

glad it was able to help you get some work done
like eno, i can see my pieces as being used for such activities by many, i find them very relaxing myself while creating sometimes, get lost then look at the transport clock and it's 3 hours in

(it's tape loops, albeit digital, so you probably heard all the elements

That's always a risk with longer ambient works, no? I like to troll my listeners every once in a while by posting an exceedingly short bit. You're not going to get very many partial listens on an eight second work.vurt wrote: Mon Jul 05, 2021 5:01 pmthanks tomtomtom1 wrote: Mon Jul 05, 2021 1:53 pm hi john, really nice one. nice soundscapes.
(even if I have to admit that I have fast forwarded a little.) - man, my time is "tight"...
that "raise of harmony" at 18:00 is fantastic (for me it screams: i want a BEAT now...). one day i will cut out the things i like most - and then i will programm a crazy beat to it. (if i am allowed...)
yeah feel free to cut n dice it.
no worries on fast forwarding either, not everyone will have 28 mins to spare![]()

often, they do start out like that.ChameleonMusic wrote: Tue Jul 06, 2021 10:08 am Very effective!

you'd just have to be there before all the loops (buffers) fill with audio
it's one (stereo) module, playing through a bunch of samples...
in to matrix mixers, which then feeds some fx chains and feedback loops.
the single input, then moves through 4 outputs...
so you get a snippet in each buffer, which may then repeat up to 11 mins (iirc) later depending which output, and repeat, till it becomes soup.
first 20 mins is as much empty space as it is audio sometimes
the trick is, knowing when to cut your 20 mins or so to share from, to give the listeners the "best" bits
hope that makes sense? does to me, but see the reply i just gave to jan
